POSITION: GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Administration
Purpose: The grants administrator supports the mission of United Way of
El Paso County (UWEPC) by tracking, compiling, and reporting data and financial information related to grant funding guidelines.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The grants administrator specific duties for the assigned grant portfolio will be the following:
• Review, confirm, and maintain strong knowledge of all requirements outlined in
contracts and Memorandums of Understanding.
• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration and other key staff
in the preparation of program budgets.
• Maintain detailed records related to the operation of grants.
• Maintain strong relationships and communication with grantors to relay
information related to grant management and provided services.
• Compile and submit all reporting requirements (financial and data) as outlined
by grants in accordance with mandated guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with partners, stakeholders, sub-grantees, contractors,
and all parties involved in the execution of services to ensure smooth
collaboration and information-sharing.
• Collaborates with the Accounting Specialist on grant payment requests, bills,
invoices and statements.
• Responsible for the monthly tracking of grant revenue and expenditures; provide
reports to program officers as requested.
• Responsible for the preparation of invoices; notifies the Director of Finance and
Administration when misclassifications occur.
• Responsible for the recording of grants receivables in the general ledger.
• The grants administrator will be responsible for the tracking and recording of the
restricted funds general ledger account.

• Strong writing, typing, and computer skills. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
applications.
• Must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate multiple projects
and staff.

projects.
• Deep understanding of program performance measurement techniques,
performance metrics, and evaluation principles.

• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Bookkeeping skills including maintaining general ledgers and performing accurate data entry.
• Experience with accounting software package such as QuickBooks or modular
accounting systems such as MIP.

Minimum Qualifications-- Experience/Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration or a related field. 1-3 years grant writing and administration experience or related professional experience. Experience working with government grants (Federal, State, etc.) preferred. Must pass background check Work experience in non-profit sector is desirable. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and/or hear. Continual use of the hands with wrist and finger movement using a keyboard is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include long hours viewing a computer monitor screen and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. The employee may occasionally travel using personal vehicle and/or work outside normal office environment. Must possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and daily access to reliable vehicle.
