The United Way of Gloucester County (UWGC) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization in advancing our mission to improve the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community.

As the chief executive officer, the Executive Director serves as the primary ambassador of UWGC, providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and community stewardship. This position works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners to strengthen UWGC’s role as a trusted leader and convener in addressing community needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.
  • Strengthen UWGC’s visibility as a convener, collaborator, and advocate for community change.
  • Design and execute year-round fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Ensure effective financial and organizational management, with transparency and accountability.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with community leaders, nonprofits, businesses, and government.
  • Oversee fair and transparent fund distribution to community partners and measure community impact.
  • Guide and support the Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers to achieve organizational goals.
  • Direct marketing, communications, and brand stewardship strategies.
  • Serve as the liaison to United Way Worldwide and the United Ways of New Jersey State Association.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management, and organizational leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance, community impact strategies, and donor stewardship.
  • Proficiency in social media, marketing, and digital communication tools.
  • Experience managing office operations, technology systems, and facilities (preferred).
  • Experience working within a federated or membership network, preferably United Way (preferred).
