Summary
As the Executive Director of United Way, you will play a pivotal role in leading our mission to ignite the desire in everyone to improve lives. Located in Sault Ste. Marie, this position is crucial for driving strategic initiatives, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring the effective management of our programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance United Way's mission and goals while maintaining global brand standards.
- Oversee project management to ensure effective delivery of community programs that align with the current needs of the region.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining a positive internal culture.
- Provide strong leadership to staff and volunteers, fostering a respective, collaborative environment.
- Engage with the Board of Directors to align organizational strategies with community needs.
- Drive business development efforts to secure funding and resources for programs.
- Negotiate partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience in strategic planning and project management within a non-profit or similar environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in senior leadership roles preferred.
- Strong operational management skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac counties
