UWLES is growing and adding a full time professional for Events Coordinator.

This team member will manage and lead all events to engage donors, volunteers, advocates, and partners.   This person works closely with staff, volunteers, and vendors to advance our fundraising and impact goals.   The successful candidate must be an effective and positive communicator, able to manage concurrent projects, and offer creative solutions.

Primary duties include:

  • Manage fundraising, outreach, and recognition events to meet revenue goals, inspire engagement, thank supporters,  and provide high quality guest experiences. Includes management of: 
    • Venue logistics, vendors, volunteers, committee/staff tasks, digital platform, materials & promotion, sponsor/donor outreach & recognition, and budget/event analysis.
    • Examples of UWLES events include:  Holiday Ball, Over the Edge, Frisbee Golf Tournament, Annual Meeting, Annual Kickoff, donor/volunteer engagement/recognition, online raffles/auctions, etc.
  • Work with marketing coordinator and development team to plan and execute marketing plans for key events, including social media, digital and print communications, outreach, and advertising.
  • Support our Affinity Group (Women United, Emerging Leaders and Student United Way) events as needed.
  • Support external fundraising events with community partners as needed.
  • Support all areas of development, impact, and operations as needed to fulfill United Way’s mission and goals.
  • Additional duties as assigned based on interests, talents, and ability.

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a community-centered philosophy. 
  • Professional, positive, and friendly interpersonal and customer service skills.   Commitment to equality, kindness, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable with strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills. 
  • Two (2) years of proven success in event planning, particularly for mid-large scale events.  Relevant project management experience may be considered.
  • Able to work both independently and with teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Advanced computer skills required, including being high proficiency with all Microsoft Office products.  Experience with online fundraising/event platforms and ability to master new platforms and databases.
  • Experience with project management and graphic design products/software preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, with concentration in event management, business or communications, preferred.
  • Physical needs of position may include extended periods of sitting or standing and lifting items up to 30 pounds. 
  • Use of own vehicle and mobile telephone in performance of duties will be needed.  Standard mileage reimbursement and flat fee for cell phone is provided (excluding daily commute).

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position.  Minimum salary is $44,000 and maximum salary is $46,000.   Standard office and work hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.  Options for a four-day work week, hybrid or a modified daily schedule are available with leadership approval.  Occasional evening or weekend hours will be required to support the agency’s outreach and fundraising needs, particularly as events often occur beyond normal working hours.
