ROLE OVERVIEW
The Events Manager plays a critical role in advancing our mission through thoughtful planning and execution of engaging events that inspire, appreciate, and activate our community and stakeholders. This role is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and execution of a calendar of events, including multiple micro appreciation events, one flagship community engagement event, one major appreciation event, and a children’s festival. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, creative, and skilled at collaborating across teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Event Planning & Management
- Lead all aspects of event planning and logistics for assigned events from concept to execution, including timelines, budgets, vendors, permits, venues, staffing, and setup/teardown.
- Coordinate at least the following on an annual basis:
- Quarterly smaller appreciation events for Leadership Givers.
- Night at the Rockies leadership giver appreciation night
- UNC Tailgate leadership givers event
- The Community Leader’s Luncheon
- The Leadership Reception honoring the Humanitarian of the Year.
- Support:
- Northern Colorado Children’s Festival
- Annual Child Care Provider Appreciation Event (Building Blocks)
- Weld Project Connect, on an as needed basis
Cross Departmental Collaboration
- Collaborate with philanthropy, communications, and program staff to align event goals with organizational strategies and values.
- Work with internal teams to co-create event experiences that reflect the voices and needs of stakeholders and the community.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Support donor and community stewardship through thoughtful event design and execution.
- Cultivate relationships with sponsors, partners, vendors, and volunteers involved in events.
Communications & Promotion
- Coordinate with marketing and communications staff to promote events through digital, print, and social media channels.
- Assist with development of event collateral such as invitations, programs, signage, and post-event follow-ups.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Track event performance through attendance, feedback, and engagement data.
- Develop post-event reports with key takeaways, budget performance, and recommendations for future improvements.
United Way of Weld County General
- Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
- Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
- Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
- Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
- Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Comfortable working evenings or weekends as event schedule demands.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related areas
- 3+ years of experience in event planning, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
- Experienced knowledge of the Weld County area with a strong network of relationships is helpful.
- High computer literacy required: demonstrated ability with MS office including excel, Outlook, and Teams
POSITION INFORMATION
- Full-time (40 hours), non-exempt
- Pay Range (H9): 26.21-31.32 per hour
- Plus $.72 per hour Spanish speaking differential, if applicable
- Supervisory duties: N/A
- Reports to: VP of Individual Giving
- Location: Greeley, CO
- Eligible for remote work: hybrid after 90 days of employment with supervisors’ approval. It is not expected that this role will maintain a set remote schedule, as the needs of donors do not typically fall within a usual schedule. Ability to work remote will likely change on a week-to-week basis, depending on the needs of donors and other partners.

We recognize that negotiating pay can create inequality, as it often rewards the best negotiators rather than the most qualified candidates. To ensure consistency and eliminate this bias, our salary bands are based on education and experience, and we do not negotiate salary once an offer is made.
