The Encore Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the success of the Encore Volunteer Program, sponsored by United Way of the CSRA. The Encore Volunteer Program is part of AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP, one of the largest volunteer efforts in the nation for people ages 55 and over, matching older adults with local organizations to address community needs. Our Encore Volunteer projects leverage the skills of volunteers to effectively meet these needs. The Encore Volunteer Coordinator oversees the daily management of the program, including volunteer recruitment and supervision, compliance with funder requirements, public awareness, community partnership building, and program reporting and documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Coordination:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Encore Volunteer Program.
  • Develop and monitor the program budget to ensure smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
  • Handle administrative duties related to public relations.
  • Successfully complete all CNCS AmeriCorps Seniors trainings.

Volunteer Recruitment and Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise older adult volunteers.
  • Organize and lead volunteer orientations, recognition events, and training sessions.
  • Secure community volunteer stations through recruitment and presentations.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with nonprofits, volunteer stations, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Coordinate community engagement activities for volunteers, including events, outings, and trainings.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive environment for volunteers.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records, including client interactions and outcomes, volunteer hours, and program activities.
  • Submit all necessary documentation, forms, and reports as required by funders.

Program Reporting and Evaluation:

  • Track and report key performance metrics, such as volunteer engagement, client satisfaction, and program outcomes.

Stakeholder Relations:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop and coordinate the Encore Volunteer Advisory Council.
  • Serve as a liaison between volunteers, volunteer stations, and United Way.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Attend meetings, trainings, and events related to the Encore Volunteer Program.
  • Oversee program-marketing efforts, including website updates, social media management, and email outreach.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance program operations and identify new opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in program coordination and volunteer management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with older adults, individuals with sight and hearing impairments, and people from diverse economic, social, and cultural backgrounds, with an emphasis on seniors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with remote work tools is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Reports to the Community Impact Program Manager.
  • Maintains a 37.5-hour workweek.
  • Based at the First Stop location at 1765 Broad Street, Augusta, GA.
  • Attendance at resource events is required, including the ability to set up at event locations.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Participation in sponsor convening provided by AmeriCorps is required.
