POSITION SUMMARY

(Eligible for Hybrid/ 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)

The Director, Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator, is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Learning Management System, retention of learning records, and delivery of seamless learning experiences. The LMS Administrator analyzes and maintains the LMS configuration and monitors system health to ensure continuous operation. This position is responsible for developing requirements, designing and disseminating reports, maintaining system accuracy and the integrity of the supporting database, and for configuring and exporting data to external reporting systems.
  
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

  1. Acts as the main point of contact for the Learning Management System (LMS).  
  2. Responsible for configuring the LMS to align with learner focused best practices, and UWW organizational priorities, policies and procedures.
  3. Collaborates with and engages external vendors and internal departments for design and technical support issues, in addition, analyzes and implements in-house, third-party learning, and professional development programs.
  4. Manages the assessment, launch, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of United Way’s Learning Management System (TalentLMS).  Day-to-day system administration includes:
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive system configuration and process documentation. This includes LMS user manual, process, features, configurations, course structures, and security protocols.
  • Sets up courses, and inputs training completion records. 
  • Creates standard and ad-hoc system-level reports for management and employees. 
  • Maintains appropriate categorization and visibility of all courses in course catalog.     
  • Communicates course requirements to affected users.  
  • Ensures learner demographic feed is accurate.
  1. In conjunction with the Learning & Leadership Development team, develops and maintains custom content for the United Way network by:
  • Serving as Learning Experience Design Consultant, contributing to refining the learning experience for all users to create an effective and engaging learning environment.
  • Developing SCORM-compliant custom content using Articulate 360 Suite and other UWW approved software.
  • Developing and deploying feedback surveys. 
  • Designing and developing learning plans and paths aligned with learning and development programs.
  • Identifying regulatory training requirements and maintain criteria datasets to ensure timely and efficient communication of compliance training assignments to employees and course owners.
  1. Participate in external vendor enhancement webinars, determines if UWW should enable enhancements by collaborating with stakeholders, implements and tests enhancements.
  2. Responsible for LMS integrations with internal and external platforms and serve as Technical Project Lead for LMS procurement.
  3. Ensures the LMS is compliant with all Federal and UWW policy and procedures regarding data privacy and cyber-security.
  4. Networks with other LMS Administrators to learn new features/best practices of the approved LMS.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in configuring and maintaining learning management systems and processes. 
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in setting up and managing successful virtual learning programs, including appropriate technical acumen.  
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in designing and managing complex projects.
  • Successful completion of training-specific classes or coursework: Kirkpatrick Certification, ROI Methodology, other ID certification, or Adobe Certified Expert.
  • Experience with rapid e-learning development tools (Articulate 360 Suite, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Cloud, or Camtasia, etc.).
  • Experience facilitating classroom training sessions, both in person and virtual meeting platforms, as needed.
  • Has a thorough understanding of the intersection between learning management, talent management, and workforce development systems at the enterprise level.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with stakeholders.
  • Outstanding abilities to manage multiple, concurrent priorities and adjust quickly as required. 
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset, including the ability to anticipate and address challenges. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products.

SALARY STATEMENT

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $125,000 to $145,000 per year.  Salary is determined by several factors including applicant’s knowledge, ­­­skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
