Director, AmeriCorps Program

United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg is seeking a mission-driven professional for the role of Director, AmeriCorps Program. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, the Director of AmeriCorps Program will play a pivotal role in developing an AmeriCorps program that will leverage national service as part of the greater Richmond region’s upward economic mobility efforts. Over the next year, the Director will build a framework and model for the AmeriCorps program based on stipulations outlined in the AmeriCorps grant awarded through the Virginia Department of Social Services. This will include developing a logic model, creating a timeline with program goals and metrics, and supporting local nonprofits. Please note that this is a grant-funded position, with a current time horizon of one year, which may be extended based on future funding.

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have strong background in strategic planning and logic model development; understanding and experience with the nonprofit sector; expertise in analyzing and interpreting data; expertise in data-driven decision making; experience working with diverse stakeholders; experience creating and managing timelines; excellent project management skills; strong communication skills; strong relationship-building skills with a wide range of stakeholders; expertise in program development, implementation, research, and analysis; ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences. Familiarity with AmeriCorps and/or United Way is a plus. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field required.


Salary: Hiring range $60,000 to $70,000, depending on experience
