Position Summary

The Corporate Partnerships Intern supports United Way of Central Indiana’s (UWCI) mission by assisting in the cultivation, retention, and growth of financial support and corporate engagement within an assigned portfolio of accounts. This role focuses on providing operational support for corporate accounts, working to maintain positive relationships and support employee giving campaigns.

The Intern will gain hands-on experience by working closely with the Corporate Partnerships team, contributing to the execution of campaigns and other initiatives while building foundational skills in nonprofit fundraising and relationship management.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Fundraising:

o Coordinate the planning and implementation of employee giving campaigns for assigned portfolio of corporate accounts, ensuring key deadlines and deliverables are met.

o Monitor campaign progress using online giving platforms and Salesforce CRM. Support finance processing, reporting, and analysis in Salesforce CRM to ensure accurate tracking of account activity and campaign results.

o Introduce opportunities for engagement to corporate accounts, such as volunteer activities, sponsorship, or event participation, where appropriate.

o Maintain professional and responsive communication with assigned accounts, providing high-quality customer service.

o Conduct research on potential contacts and key influencers to identify new prospects, and engage in outreach efforts to expand support and foster deeper buy-in from the account.

o Deliver compelling presentations on UWCI's mission, vision, and community impact to a variety of audience sizes.

Internal Relationships:

o Partner with UWCI teams, including Major Gifts, Volunteer Engagement, Community Impact, Strategic Information & Intelligence, and Brand, to identify and implement opportunities that effectively communicate UWCI’s community impact goals and priorities to stakeholders

Learning and Development:

o Gain exposure to fundraising by collaborating with and shadowing members of the Corporate Partnerships team.

Flexibility:

o Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and external environment. This role may require minimal travel within the UWCI service area, less than 5% of the time.

Education and/or Experience

Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field. This role is also open to individuals seeking to transition into a career in nonprofit fundraising, regardless of their previous field of study or professional experience. Experience in fundraising, customer service, or volunteer engagement is a plus but not required.
