Objectives & Expectations: The Campaign Associate at United Way of South Hampton Roads plays a vital role in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts and promoting community engagement. The primary responsibility of the Campaign Associate is to assist in planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising campaigns and initiatives. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for making a positive impact on the community. The Campaign Associate reports to the Senior Director of Corporate and Community Relations. Competencies:

Job Responsibilities: 1. Campaign Support:

a. Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising campaigns, including workplace campaigns, individual giving, and special events.

b. Collaborate with the Resource Development team to create campaign materials, presentations, and fundraising tools to support campaign activities.

c. Provide support in conducting prospect research and identifying potential donors and sponsors.

d. Assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities, including acknowledgment letters, donor recognition, and relationship management.

2. Relationship Management: a. Build and maintain positive relationships with corporate partners, individual donors, and

community stakeholders. b. Serve as a liaison between United Way of South Hampton Roads and campaign volunteers,

providing necessary training, guidance, and resources. c. Support volunteer recruitment and engagement efforts to ensure campaign success.

3. Data Management and Reporting: a. Utilize the CRM system to accurately record and track donor information, contributions, and

campaign results. b. Generate regular reports on campaign progress, donor participation, and fundraising

outcomes. c. Analyze campaign data and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making and future

campaign planning.

4. Communication and Marketing: a. Assist in the distribution of campaign-related communications, such as newsletters, social

media posts, and email updates. b. Support the creation of engaging content and stories to highlight the impact of United Way's

work and the importance of community support. c. Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all

campaign materials. Key Skill Requirements:


• Knowledge and understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and

inspire diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and

priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software

applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with

internal and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to United Way's mission and values, with a passion for making a positive impact in

the community. Qualifications


• Bachelor's or an associate’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising, campaign coordination, or related roles.

Working Environment: Typical office environment with some time spent in outside meetings. Nights and weekends may be required for special events or meetings. Physical Requirements:


• This job may require exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects


• Worker must frequently talk, hear and use typical office equipment
• Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time
• Ability to provide personal transportation
• Ability to operate a computer for extended periods
