This pivotal role will develop and execute comprehensive disaster response strategies, coordinate cross-agency collaboration, and engage with community partners to ensure effective emergency services. Reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, the Community Resiliency Coordination Manager will be instrumental in mobilizing resources, training volunteers, and building resilience in the communities we serve in the tri-county area. This role will serve as the face of UWCF in short-term disaster relief for local communities, from hurricanes and tornadoes to violent acts and other crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Volunteer Management and Training: Serve as the volunteer case manager, overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of a disaster response volunteer team. Lead efforts to ensure a pool of trained volunteers is ready to be deployed during emergencies. Provide case management training to volunteers and oversee their deployment during disaster events.
  • Community Connection Events: Organize and manage community connection events aimed at building resilience and preparing residents for disaster situations. This includes planning outreach programs to educate the public on disaster preparedness and resilience-building strategies.
  • Corporate Relationships: Work closely with the Resource Development and Community Impact teams to build and strengthen corporate relationships that support disaster relief efforts.
  • Disaster Response Drills: Plan and execute regular disaster response drills and simulations in collaboration with local stakeholders to ensure community readiness.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date records, reports, and documentation related to disaster response activities and resources. Periodically review and update the UWCF Business Continuity Plan, ensuring alignment with current needs and disaster response protocols. Evaluate disaster response efforts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Emergency Services Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the organization, local government agencies, emergency services, and community partners during disaster events. Manage communication and coordination efforts to ensure effective disaster relief and recovery.
  • Public Representative: Represent the organization at local, regional, and state-level emergency management meetings, conferences, and trainings. Be the spokesperson for UWCF's short-term disaster relief efforts within the community.
