Campaign Associate

The Campaign Associate is part of the Resource Development team and works closely with the Associate Director of Resource Development, businesses, donors, and volunteers while holding true to UWABC’s long-term strategic vision.
Position is responsible for supporting fundraising strategies and goals of UWABC’s Resource Development Department related to Workplace Campaigns and donor cultivation in the workplace. In partnership with staff, you will be responsible for an account portfolio of businesses who have a commitment to investing and engaging employees in the community through UWABC initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a Portfolio of Workplace Accounts
- Implement workplace fundraising campaign strategies
- Ask for employee and corporate contributions through in person presentations for different sized audiences
- Serve as a project manager on tasks and assignments in portfolios assigned to you
- Represent UWABC at campaign events
- Educate employees on the value of investing in UWABC to address Youth Opportunity and Community Resiliency
- Build and deepen relationships between business partners, workplace donors and UWABC
- Maintain accurate workplace and donor profiles in the CRM and conduct research on assigned accounts
Support for Resource Development Staff
- Assist with events and experiences to engage business and individual donors
- Work with the Associate Director to keep the campaign storage organized and accessible
- Assist with other duties as assigned as it relates to Resource Development strategies and goals
- Work cross-departmentally to address time-sensitive priorities effectively

Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in business administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field, with experience in public speaking OR 2 or more years experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or volunteer management—especially in roles focused on relationship-building, public speaking, solicitation, account management, or event coordination.
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
- Commitment to UWABC's guiding principles and ability to model those principles
Technical Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel throughout Buncombe County. Mileage reimbursement is provided for use of personal vehicle.
- Proficient with computers and software, including Google Suite and MS Office
- Ability and willingness to learn & work within specified software platforms - Asana (project management), Airtable (tracking), and CRM
- Ability to manage time, multiple priorities, maneuver complex work environments, engage in planning and problem-solving, and execute details
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion and independent judgment and/or action in evaluating situations and making decisions
- Ability to communicate (oral and written) with coworkers, donors, vendors, service providers, and the community in a clear, service-oriented, and professional manner
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Holds self and other team members accountable for achieving results
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
Nice to Have
- Bilingual, English/Spanish
- Experience with any of the following (or similar): Salesforce, Airtable, Asana
- Experience in health and human services development

This position is non- exempt from overtime regulations. This position is based in our office or in-person at other organizations for rallies in Asheville, NC for at least 85% of the schedule. After an orientation period and if the work allows, this position may allow for 15% remote work.

Hours: 20/week - standard hours Monday through Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm with some weekend or before/after hour needs.
Position Type: 10 Week Position - September 15th - November 21st
Hiring Range and Benefits: $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience.
