United Way of Wisconsin is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and mission-focused individual who understands and respects the needs of 211 resource directory users and has an interest in the human services delivery system. The 211 Community Resource Database Associate (Associate) will develop and maintain relationships with agencies and community groups that assist all populations, with an emphasis but not limited to service providers in Wisconsin. This is a full-time regular, non-exempt position.

We also provide member support services to local and independent United Ways in Wisconsin, and 211 regional contact centers.

A commitment to updating and improving the community resource directory is essential with an understanding that success will include in person conversations, professional phone, and written communication skills, and be comfortable with using modern technical platforms to enter data and edit content using a systemwide style guide. 

The individual should have exceptional listening skills, a high level of energy and integrity; compassion for all members of the community and staff and is self-motivated. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  1. Database Maintenance
  • Regularly update and maintain a comprehensive database of community service providers, including contact information, eligibility criteria, and service details. 
  • Accurately summarize an agency’s program and index the services according to the statewide standard indexing system.
  • Conduct research to identify added resources and incorporate them into the database. 
  • Ensure data accuracy by verifying information with providers and updating as needed. 
  • Ensure compliance with national accreditation, taxonomy, and coding standards. 
  1. Outreach and Community Engagement
  • Assist in implementing outreach strategies to raise awareness about available services within the community. 
  • Conduct surveys, telephone, and other methods to regularly update and collect community resource database service listing. 
  • Conduct presentations and workshops to educate the public about information and referral services. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent and demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse populations. 
  • Strong research and analytical abilities to identify appropriate resources. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate database information. 
  • Proficiency in computer applications for data entry, database management, and report generation.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products including word and excel. 
  • Knowledge of local community resources and social service agencies 
  • Productivity driven with a focus on measurable results.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. 
  • The ability to establish positive working relationships and remain positive. 
  • Flexible, able to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours of operation are 8:30 to 5:00 pm.
  • Work involves frequent use of office equipment and exposure to computer screens. 
  • Work requires oral and written communication with internal and external partners. 
  • Hybrid work environment within the state of Wisconsin.
