Objectives &amp; Expectations: 
The Mobility Mentor will work in partnership with individuals through coaching, preparing and encouraging them on their 

journey toward self-sufficiency through goal setting. They will demonstrate an understanding of the issues, community 

needs, and existing systems of care related to the ALICE population. Mobility Mentoring is defined as the professional 

practice of partnering with individuals so that over time they may acquire the resources, skills, and sustained behavior 

changes necessary to attain and preserve their economic independence. Mobility Mentors coach individuals in setting 

priorities, developing action plans, honoring commitments, connecting to resources, and achieving goals. Candidates 

must be customer focused; data driven, organized, and results oriented. This position is based in Norfolk, and the mentor 

must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and/or weekends to meet individual’s needs. Successful 

candidates will have a strong ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and educate stakeholders on the 

needs of the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population. Experience implementing motivational 

interviewing and trauma-informed practices is preferred.

 • Provide direct coaching/mentoring by carrying a full caseload of up to thirty individuals per year 

 • Identify the strengths of participants and support individuals in overcoming barriers through problem solving. 

 • Assist participants in setting goals related to family and personal well-being, career, education, housing and family 
finances while breaking down goals into manageable steps recognizing barriers to self-sufficiency that are multi-

faceted. 

 • Thorough documentation of coaching activities in an objective, detailed, and timely manner 

 • Accurate tracking and reporting of demographic information and data regarding individual assessment, goal setting, 
goal achievement, and referrals within specified guidelines.

<h2>Position Summary&nbsp;</h2>The Resource Development Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Resource Development and will play a critical role in the management of United Way of Palm Beach County’s corporate workplace fundraising campaigns.&nbsp; This position will oversee a defined portfolio of corporate relationships to support the total annual workplace revenue goals. Workplace revenue is comprised of employee giving campaigns, workplace-led special events, and corporate gifts. The Resource Development Manager is expected to develop, cultivate, and manage new and existing corporate relationships as part of the overall fundraising strategy.&nbsp;The ideal candidate thrives in a forward-facing role, building relationships and providing excellent customer service.&nbsp;This position will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders as well as work externally with a defined segment of corporate industries to aid in their corporate social responsibility initiatives.
