Why Join United Way of Central Florida?

Imagine a part-time role where your organizational skills, attention to detail, and passion for supporting others directly contribute to meaningful community impact.

At United Way Central Florida (UWCF), we are passionate about building strong partnerships, stewarding generosity, and advancing positive change across our community.

As a part-time Resource Development Coordinator on the Corporate Philanthropy team, you'll be an integral member of a collaborative, mission-driven effort -- providing administrative and campaign support that helps our fundraising professionals build strong corporate partnerships and successful workplace giving campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on organization, coordination, and making things happen behind the scenes.

Position Overview

The Resource Development Coordinator provides administrative, operational, and campaign coordination support to the Sr. Director of Workplace Philanthropy and the Corporate Philanthropy team.

This role plays an essential part in the success of workplace giving campaigns and donor engagement efforts by coordinating logistics, maintaining accurate donor information, preparing campaign materials, supporting events, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the team.

Unlike a fundraising role, this position does not manage a donor portfolio. Instead, the Coordinator serves as the organizational backbone of the team, allowing fundraising staff to maximize time cultivating donor relationships and growing philanthropic support throughout Polk County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Sr. Director of Workplace Philanthropy, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, preparing agendas, and tracking follow-up items.
  • Support workplace campaign coordination in partnership with the Workplace Philanthropy team.
  • Coordinate campaign materials, pledge forms, presentations, promotional items, and campaign packets.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgements, correspondence, stewardship letters, presentations, and campaign reports.
  • Maintain accurate donor, campaign, and pledge information within the ANDAR database.
  • Produce reports, spreadsheets, mailing lists, and data exports that support campaign planning and fundraising activities.
  • Assist with workplace campaign events, ambassador trainings, donor appreciation activities, and volunteer coordination.
  • Coordinate event logistics including vendor communication, registrations, RSVPs, name badges, printed materials, and on-site event support.
  • Draft, proofread, and format donor and volunteer communications.
  • Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for campaign materials and departmental records.
  • Coordinate ordering and inventory of campaign supplies and promotional materials.
  • Support department projects and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of administrative, office coordination, nonprofit support, customer service, or related experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with donor or CRM databases preferred (ANDAR experience is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to organize multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Skills & Attributes

  • Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and follow-through.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Positive, dependable, and proactive work style.
  • Comfortable supporting occasional early morning, evening, or weekend fundraising events.

Compensation, Benefits & Work Schedule

  • Hourly Rate: $19.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Schedule: 20 hours per week.
  • Classification: Non-exempt, hourly.
  • Location: On-site in Lakeland, Florida.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including pro-rated paid time off, holidays, and professional development opportunities.

Disaster Response Responsibility

Every United Way Central Florida employee is a disaster response worker and may be expected to support community response efforts when an Emergency Support Function (ESF) is activated, after ensuring personal and family safety.

Inclusion at UWCF

At United Way Central Florida, we believe that diverse voices and experiences strengthen our mission and culture. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. All employment decisions are made based on merit and business need. UWCF is a drug-free workplace. Candidates must pass a drug screening prior to employment.
