Job SummaryThe Senior Staff Accountant performs professional level accounting work and assists with internal and external audits. Employee works with some independence subject to established United Way Tucson and Southern Arizona policies and procedures, referring to supervisor for consultation on significant deviations or unusual programs. For more information about our organization, see <a href="http://www.unitedwaytucson.org" target="_blank">www.unitedwaytucson.org</a>.Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000/annuallyReconciliation of Subsidiary Ledgers to General Ledger•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reconcile monthly bank statements for all cash and investment accounts, research outstanding checks over 90 days, create and issue returned check notices. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Verify and reconcile various accounts to the general ledger on a monthly basis, including allocations payable, suspense/audit account(s), pledges receivable accounts, and many others.Accounting Administration•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Conduct annual fixed asset inventory, maintain records, and make changes when necessary for acquisition or disposal of property.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Confirm payments to agencies when requested by independent auditors.Payroll Processing•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bi-weekly payroll processing and manual payroll checks as necessary. Customer Service•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provides excellent customer service as a component of all job duties. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Responds professionally to requests for information in a positive and timely manner.Administrative Functions•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform duties in accordance with UWTSA policies and procedures such as attending staff meetings, completing accurate and timely timesheets and expense reports and POs as assigned. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist in developing policies, procedures, schedules, and assignments to support department and/or organizational goals and objectives.Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university or college, 2-4 years of progressively responsible professional level accounting experience, not-for-profit preferred.
