The Outreach Coordinator contributes to the achievement of 
United Way’s mission and vision through development and 
implementation of communications and marketing strategies 
and outreach services for the United Way of El Paso’s in-
house programs, which assist with the needs of families and 
individuals recovering from trauma, facing financial hardship 
or potential homelessness, and families with children ages 0 
to 5.

 
 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
Marketing and Communication 

The Outreach Coordinator supports program Directors by developing and fulfilling 
the duties of a comprehensive event and outreach marketing plan. 

ï· Works with the center’s Director to coordinate educational and resource 
events, activities and workshops. 

ï· Develop collaborative relationships with a wide variety of El Paso area 
neighborhood organizations, schools, city and county agencies, as well as 
faith-based organizations and other partners. 

ï· Plan and implement promotional strategies for all programming to broaden 
program participation and deepen general public awareness of Center 
through multiple channels including print, digital, and broadcast, public 
presentations and grassroots communication. 

ï· Establish relationships with service agencies for optimal understanding as to 
what is provided, to whom and for what purpose. 

ï· Collect information regarding available resources including financial, goods 
and services to maintain and distribute resource listings. 

ï· Work with Director of Marketing and Engagement to create content to 
promote El Paso United services to include design and copywriting.

ï· Create dynamic written, graphic, and video content 
ï· Analyzing, manage, and alter schedules where necessary to optimize visits 

and to target audiences in a timely manner. 
ï· Manage and optimize El Paso United social media channels, including 

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms 
ï· Coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy. 


ï· Coordinate media relations and maintain strong relationships with 
external public relations and communication partners and broadcast 
and print media outlets. 

ï· As needed, serve as agency photographer 

ï· Support website maintenance. 

ï· Assist and/or write scripts for media interviews and special events. 

 
Parents as Teachers 
 
Build and maintain relationships with community partners to help promote the PAT 
program. 

ï· Plan and attend community events, health fairs, and school functions to share 
information about PAT. 

ï· Develop outreach materials, presentations, and social media content in English 
and Spanish. 

ï· Follow up with interested families and assist with the intake and enrollment 
process. 

ï· Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate records for reporting and program 
improvement. 

ï· Collaborate with the PAT team to ensure smooth transitions from outreach to 
home visiting services. 


Stay current on marketing, social, economic and political trends that may have an 
effect on Center and United Way of El Paso County and make recommendations to 
enhance our image based on those trends.

Vision<ul><li>Build and lead the marketing vision in collaboration with the CDMO and cross-functional leaders, ensuring alignment with UWCF’s mission, strategic plan, and revenue goals.</li><li>Develop annual and quarterly integrated marketing plans with clear goals, budgets, measures, and resourcing; drive a disciplined operating rhythm (calendars, stand-ups, reviews).</li><li>Partner with Resource Development to co-create market-tested messaging and go-to-market plays for donor segments, corporate partners, workplace campaigns, and affinity groups.</li></ul>Brand, Messaging &amp; Content<ul><li>Serve as our brand steward, ensuring every touchpoint adheres to UWCF guidelines and United Way Worldwide alignment; maintain a current, easy-to-use brand toolkit and templates.</li><li>Own the messaging architecture and editorial calendar; produce and/or direct high-quality content (impact reports, annual reports, cases for support, press releases, video scripts, donor spotlights, newsletters, presentations).</li></ul>Donor &amp; Volunteer Growth (with CDMO &amp; RD)<ul><li>With the CDMO and Resource Development (RD) team, develop and implement strategies that drive donor engagement, retention, and growth across individual, corporate, and workplace segments.</li><li>Map donor and volunteer journeys; build targeted campaigns (email, social, web, events, direct mail) that increase participation, average gift, and lifetime value.</li><li>Lead list strategy, segmentation, testing, and KPI analysis to continuously optimize conversion and retention.</li></ul>Events &amp; Experiences<ul><li>Oversee planning and marketing execution for key organizational events (campaign kickoff/celebrations, impact showcases, volunteer days, affinity group events), ensuring brand consistency and measurable ROI.</li><li>Create event themes and experience design that elevate storytelling, stewardship, and recognition.</li></ul>Volunteer Engagement &amp; Affinity Groups<ul><li>Partner with RD and program leads to engage volunteers and affinity groups; clarify volunteer roles and responsibilities, co-create a shared vision for their work, and support recruitment and recognition efforts with targeted campaigns.</li></ul>Digital, Web &amp; Analytics<ul><li>Own website strategy and CMS; ensure clear information architecture, strong UX, and up-to-date impact stories.</li><li>Lead email/automation programs, organic/paid social, and search; manage SEO/SEM basics and digital advertising with agency support as needed.</li><li>Build dashboards for leadership (traffic, reach, conversions, donor retention, event KPIs); translate insights into action.</li></ul>Public Relations &amp; Issues Management<ul><li>Lead media relations, spokesperson prep, and thought-leadership placements; cultivate strong relationships with local media and community partners.</li><li>Maintain a crisis/issues communication playbook; coordinate rapid, consistent responses with the CDMO and Executive team.</li></ul>Intake, Production &amp; Stewardship Processes<ul><li>Oversee marketing intake, SLAs, and production workflows to manage requests, priorities, proofs, and deadlines.</li><li>Manage marketing-branded orders and mailings, ensuring quality, cost control, and alignment with stewardship strategies and calendars.</li></ul>Team, Budget &amp; Vendor Management<ul><li>Directly manage the Graphic Designer and PR/Social Media Director; coach for performance excellence and on-time delivery.</li><li>Manage the marketing budget, agency/contractor relationships, RFPs, scopes, and performance.</li><li>Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement across a high-throughput workload.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Skills:<ul><li>7–10+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 3–5+ years leading teams and agencies; nonprofit or cause-driven experience strongly preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated success building integrated plans that grow donors/volunteers and deliver measurable results.</li><li>Hands-on experience with CRM (e.g., ANDAR or similar), email automation, web/CMS, social platforms, marketing analytics, and basic SEO/SEM.</li><li>Strong writing/editing portfolio spanning brand storytelling, donor cases, press, and executive communications.</li><li>Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale events and campaigns end-to-end.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).</li></ul>Skills &amp;
