This position will handle incoming phone contacts on our National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, while collecting and documenting all required data and offering all applicable resources and referrals to callers who may be in emotional distress and suicidal crisis. The Crisis &amp; 988 Specialist is responsible for providing excellent service to those accessing the service by applying the equivalent of reflective listening and motivational interviewing skills in the context of an electronic exchange. Crisis &amp; 988 Specialists have the special training and skills to interact via phone, chat and text to understand callers’ unique circumstances and needs, render immediate emotional support, provide options for ongoing support/treatment and follow up to ensure needs are being met. This position also requires the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with diverse and multi-cultural individuals, be non-judgmental, and respectful of the confidential nature of the job. &nbsp;Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions: • Attend staff meetings, in-services, training sessions and conferences when appropriate to job responsibilities. • Participate in staff training activities to maintain the required annual training hours. • Keep Microsoft TEAMS open and check frequently. Acknowledge new posts from Crisis &amp; 988 Director or other supervisory staff promptly. • Keep Outlook email account open and minimized on desktop during work hours; respond to supervisor emails promptly. • Document and maintain accurate, thorough records of all telephone interventions transacted during the work shift. • Be fully prepared to begin answering phone lines promptly per assigned work schedule. • Log into the call queue to take calls. • Adhere to lunch and shift schedule unless change is approved in advance by the Supervisor. • Keep all activities in line with the core values and contribute to the positive culture of United Way of NE Florida. • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Crisis and 988 by completing all other tasks as assigned. • Answer phone calls with an appropriate tone of voice, paying close attention to voice inflection and volume. • Answer chats, texts and emails using correct spelling grammar, and professional language, paying close attention to the inclusion of feeling reflections. • Demonstrate proficiency in using multiple types of contact center software, computer hardware and telephone equipment. • Maintain acceptable level of contact handling and customer service performance as described by 988 training standards. • Within 988 guidelines, assesses needs of persons contacting 988 and provide para-professional counseling, information &amp; referral services, crisis intervention, suicide de-escalation/intervention, and linkage services via various channels of communication, including: online chat, phone, texting and email. • Use active listening skills and conversational intent to; develop a strategy that identifies solutions to barriers to access, provide high-quality confidential connections to resources and services, demonstrate objectivity and empathy and be non-judgmental and neutral in handing all contacts. • Develop and implement crisis related safety plans. • If imminent risk to the individual or others, the Crisis &amp; 988 Specialist may engage 911 to assist in response. • Maintain a non-judgmental attitude when interacting with contacts, displaying sensitivity to all cultural backgrounds. • Referral process consists of assessing the needs of the inquirer, identifying appropriate resources, and providing enough information about resources to help inquirer make an informed decision. • In line with 988 policy and procedures, follows-up with designated at-risk callers to determine referral outcomes. • Must successfully complete VIBRANT training prior to assisting callers • Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the supervisory team • These job responsibilities are to be the main emphasis of this position. Purpose of Position 
The Desktop Support Specialist will support the end-user computer needs for functionality, systems 
updates and hardware deployments. The role provides support to Orange County United Way teams by 
providing user assistance and training on both systems and applications used by the organization. 
End-user and system support is provided for both onsite and remote employees, the need to 
troubleshoot and fix problems will occur regularly using remote connectivity tools. 
The position will also be responsible for hardware and software deployments, inventory controls, user 
training on systems and applications. 
 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 
 • Provide desktop systems and user support to ensure required computer capabilities are 

available to all users 

 • Develop and provide systems and software training to the end-users 

 • Manage trouble tickets and ensure customer satisfaction 

 • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related 
hardware and software for local and remote users 

 • Develop and maintain an inventory of all IT desktops, components and equipment 

 • Maintain documentation on all desktop processes and procedures 

 • Ensure that application and system updates are in place 

 • Deploy, implement, troubleshoot and support the workforce environment 

 • Monitor the ongoing operation of the Windows environment 

 • Identify risk and challenges and implements corrective actions as needed

United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades (UWLHG) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people in our community. This is accomplished through fundraising, fund distribution (90+ partners), community building, volunteer advancement, and information and referral. <h2>Position Summary&nbsp;</h2>The Resource Development Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Resource Development and will play a critical role in the management of United Way of Palm Beach County’s corporate workplace fundraising campaigns.&nbsp; This position will oversee a defined portfolio of corporate relationships to support the total annual workplace revenue goals. Workplace revenue is comprised of employee giving campaigns, workplace-led special events, and corporate gifts. The VITA Program Coordinator is a member of United Way of Greenville County’s Community Impact team and is 
responsible for administering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Greenville County. The VITA 
Program Coordinator will oversee implementation of VITA services at partner sites during the season and operate 
year-round tax services at the Opportunity Center.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
 

Volunteer and Client Engagement, Support, and Retention 
 - Serve as the main contact for clients and volunteers, responding promptly to inquiries. 
 - Develop initiatives to engage and retain volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported. 
 - Regularly communicate with volunteers to provide support, recognize achievements, and gather feedback. 
 - Create and manage recruitment strategies, including public presentations and events. 
 - Develop and deliver training sessions for volunteers and AmeriCorps members, including presentation materials. 
 

Site Coordination, Staff &amp; Shift Management 
 - Hire, train, and supervise seasonal site coordinators to ensure effective VITA service delivery. 
 - Plan and manage site and volunteer schedules, and coordinate events. 
 - Ensure appropriate staffing for each shift, being on-call when necessary. 
 - Oversee site setup and closure, managing inventory, supplies, and technology. 
 - Provide technical support to volunteers, AmeriCorps members, and clients. 
 - Troubleshoot minor technology issues at sites, including printer, network, and laptop malfunctions. 
 - Address routine site issues and refer complex problems to the appropriate staff. 
 - Coordinate the distribution, collection, and inventory of VITA supplies and equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Director of Volunteer Engagement at United Way of Greenville County (UWGC) leads the strategic 
development and execution of volunteer engagement efforts, ensuring that stakeholders are effectively 
mobilized to support the mission of UWGC. 

This is an important and complex role that requires the successful candidate to be a skilled multitasker and 
masterful communicator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. It goes without saying 
you must be a people person who enjoys real collaboration with others. Being creative, flexible and 
resourceful are also very helpful attributes for success in this role. 

This position works very closely with several key internal departments including development, corporate 
engagement, events, and marketing. While the position reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the 
director of volunteer engagement has regular direct interaction with the CEO and other members of the 
executive leadership team. Externally, the director of volunteer engagement will have regular interaction 
with UWGC board members, leaders of various volunteer committees and projects, as well as individuals 
within partner companies and organizations.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 

 • Plan, execute and evaluate a comprehensive volunteer engagement strategy to advance the mission
and strategic priorities of UWGC and align with its values.

 • Provide primary staff leadership for key affinity groups which include African American Leadership,
Women United, ReUNITED, and Young Leaders Society.

 • Provide primary staff leadership for key volunteer events which include Hands on Greenville, School
Tools, Project Joy, and others.

 • Create high-value and high-impact experiences for volunteers individually and collectively
throughout the year.

 • Ensure effective recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers.

 • Collect volunteer related data to effectively evaluate and manage the overall volunteer engagement
program.

QUALIFICATIONS 

 • Bachelor’s degree required.

 • At least three years of professional experience required. Prior volunteer management experience is
strongly preferred.

 • Deliver excellent, proactive customer service to all corporate partners, volunteer leaders, and
vendors at all times.

 • Be clear, concise and compelling in written communication.

 • Listen to understand and speak to be understood.

 • Obsess over the details, but don’t be a perfectionist.

 • Strive for best-in-class.

 • Challenge assumptions without being rude or disrespectful. Know when enough is enough.

 • Think big and be creative.

 • Be thoughtful and kind.
