POSITION SUMMARY&nbsp;(Eligible for Hybrid/ 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive annual giving strategy that drives donor acquisition, retention, and revenue growth for United Way Worldwide. This role will lead multi-channel fundraising efforts, including digital campaigns, direct mail, and workplace giving initiatives. The Director will work collaboratively with internal teams and local United Way affiliates to cultivate and engage a broad base of donors.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION<ul><li>Develop and Implement Strategy: Create and execute a data-driven annual giving strategy that enhances donor engagement and increases unrestricted revenue.</li><li>Multi-Channel Fundraising: Oversee and optimize direct mail, email, digital, and workplace giving campaigns to maximize donor acquisition and retention.</li><li>Donor Stewardship &amp; Engagement: Design stewardship programs to enhance donor loyalty, including recognition strategies, impact reporting, and personalized outreach.</li><li>Workplace Giving &amp; Employee Engagement: Collaborate with corporate partners and local United Ways to enhance workplace giving campaigns and employee engagement strategies.</li><li>Analytics &amp; Performance Measurement: Leverage data analytics to monitor campaign effectiveness, donor behavior, and fundraising trends, making data-driven adjustments to improve results.</li><li>Collaboration &amp; Leadership: Work cross-functionally with marketing, donor relations, and regional fundraising teams to ensure cohesive messaging and campaign alignment.</li><li>Budget &amp; Vendor Management: Oversee budget allocation for annual giving initiatives and manage external vendors for campaign execution.</li></ul>JOB REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a strong track record in annual giving and direct response fundraising.</li><li>Expertise in multi-channel fundraising, donor segmentation, and donor journey mapping.</li><li>Strong knowledge of CRM and donor database management (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, or similar platforms).</li><li>Experience managing workplace giving campaigns and engaging corporate partners.</li><li>Excellent communication and storytelling skills to inspire donor engagement.</li><li>Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously.</li><li>Passion for United Way’s mission and a commitment to equity and community impact.</li></ul>This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
