They will bring exemplary organizational skills, near flawless attention to detail, the poise and discretion necessary to manage relationships at the highest level, and the agility and flexibility required to manage the affairs of a CEO with an extremely high volume of internal and external priorities.&nbsp;KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITIONAn individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:<ul><li>Manage high-level relationships with a range of UWW stakeholders, to include United Way Network volunteers, and executives; national and worldwide nonprofit and corporate senior executives; high-level partners and donors, and UWW Board members; own the resolution of requests for and from the CEO as they relate to the CEO’s time, positioning, and participation in various events, meetings, and trips.</li><li>Develop and maintain protocols and processes for engaging CEO and securing appointments.</li><li>Proactively oversee the strategic use of the CEO’s time, seeking to maximize time directed toward activities aligned with the CEO’s priorities and vision, and identifying potential opportunities for reframing or delegation of other inquiries.&nbsp;</li><li>Identify and collaborate with content managers, producing and/or compiling final preparation/briefing materials for CEO.</li><li>Ensure that all materials needed in preparation for a meeting or other engagement meet the standards for use by the CEO, often requiring editing of and working with staff on meeting objectives and requirements.</li><li>Coordinate in detail the travel and logistical arrangements for all of the CEO’s meetings and conferences. Research and reserve all travel arrangements including ground and air, secure all travel documents (visas, passports, etc.), and maintain vigilant availability to address / resolve travel issues or accommodate unplanned changes.</li><li>Provide support to the CEO while on travel and limited support for staff traveling with CEO, to include logistical coordination and continual communication in real/appropriate time. May require travel on a case-by-case basis.</li><li>Make recommendations to solve highly complex problems requiring research and information from multiple sources or advanced knowledge, in a thorough and timely manner. Such problem solving requires analysis and interpretation of widely varying situations, referencing a variety of policies, precedents, and past practices, and the creativity necessary to reach resolution through unique approaches. Achieve resolution through unique approaches and/or.</li><li>Exercise discretion, integrity, and poise in dealing with a range of confidential or sensitive issues.&nbsp;</li><li>Plan and/or project manage events that involve the CEO. This may require working with staff from various departments to develop the structure and execution of events in addition to the involvement of the CEO.&nbsp;</li><li>Collaborate with the Communications staff within the Executive Office, and other staff across the organization, to ensure the development of such content as speeches, presentations, talking points, briefing documents, and other communications, to meet the objectives of the CEO’s engagements. The role combines strategic oversight with day-to-day management of critical systems, vendor ecosystems, business continuity planning, and enterprise-wide technology initiatives.​ &nbsp;Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership &amp; Service Excellence<ul><li>Lead and evolve the organization’s technology operations, including infrastructure, and IT service management (ITSM).</li><li>Co-lead evolving enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, data environments).</li><li>Establish and manage performance benchmarks, KPIs, and SLAs for all technology services.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability, reduce cost, and enhance the end-user experience.</li></ul>Digital Transformation Strategy<ul><li>Partner with the CTO to define and execute the digital transformation roadmap.</li><li>Lead initiatives that modernize core systems, introduce automation, and increase the use of AI and data-driven technologies.</li><li>Promote the adoption of cloud-native technologies and emerging tools aligned with enterprise goals.</li></ul>Business Continuity &amp; Risk Management<ul><li>Develop and lead the organization’s business continuity and disaster recovery planning.</li><li>Oversee risk assessments and delivery of mitigation strategies to ensure resilience of key systems and services.</li><li>Coordinate enterprise-wide continuity exercises and ensure compliance with policy, audit, and regulatory standards.</li></ul>Enterprise Architecture &amp; Platform Oversight<ul><li>Oversee integration and optimization of enterprise platforms, ensuring scalability and interoperability across business units.</li><li>Provide architectural guidance for new technology investments and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.</li><li>Support enterprise data governance, cybersecurity practices, and compliance frameworks in partnership with key stakeholders.</li></ul>Vendor &amp; Budget Management<ul><li>Manage key vendor relationships and ensure delivery of value through negotiated service contracts.</li><li>Collaborate with Finance and Procurement and oversight and management responsibility of the technology operations budget and capital planning.</li><li>Ensure transparency and accountability in project delivery and investment prioritization.</li></ul>Team Leadership &amp; Culture<ul><li>Mentor and develop a high-performing team of directors, and operational leads.</li><li>Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and equity.</li><li>Champion inclusive technology practices and ensure alignment with organizational values.</li></ul>Key Elements of the RoleThe VP, Technology Operations &amp; Digital Transformation will be accountable for driving the following critical elements of organizational transformation:<ul><li>Technology Adoption: Leading the implementation and integration of advanced digital technologies including cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI).</li><li>Process Modernization: Streamlining and automating core business processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce overall costs.</li><li>Customer Engagement: Elevating the quality of service and stakeholder engagement through digital platforms, data-informed outreach, and multi-channel communication.</li><li>Innovation: Creating an ecosystem that encourages experimentation, agile development, and innovation in products, services, and delivery models.</li><li>Cultural Shift: Supporting a shift in mindset across the organization toward digital fluency, adaptability, and continuous improvement.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field; master’s degree preferred.</li><li>A minimum 12 years of progressive technology leadership experience, with a strong record in IT operations, enterprise platforms, and digital transformation.</li><li>Demonstrated expertise in managing business continuity and disaster recovery in complex environments.</li><li>Proven success leading large-scale transformation projects and technology modernization efforts.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing (Microsoft Azure, AWS), enterprise systems (Salesforce), and IT service management frameworks.</li><li>Excellent executive communication skills and a track record of partnering effectively with C-level leaders and cross departmental functions.&nbsp;</li></ul>Preferred Attributes<ul><li>Executive presence and strategic foresight.</li><li>Skilled in navigating matrixed environments and aligning diverse stakeholders</li><li>Experience working in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.</li><li>Strong project portfolio governance and vendor management skills.</li><li>Passion for ethical, inclusive, and human-centered technology leadership.</li></ul>This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
