Cultivation efforts will lead to improved donor retention, acquisition, and growth. The Manager is responsible for donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship in support of United Way of Massachusetts Bay's fundraising efforts.He/She/They will cultivate and solicit Major Gift prospects through in person visits, phone calls, invitations to signature events, unique and personal learning opportunities, as well as other fundraising events and engagement opportunities. The Manager is also responsible for establishing and leveraging key internal partnerships in order to achieve optimal results.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Works closely with the Director of Individual Giving (Major Gifts), to support the major gift program. The Manager of Individual Giving (Major Gifts) will co-develop the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to support the major giving program, including but not limited to converting annual leadership donors into major gift prospects. </li><li>Manages a major gift portfolio of 100-125 prospects; maintains accurate and detailed donor records to analyze deployment of resources against team objectives. The Manager of Individual Giving-Major Gifts is responsible for executing a moves management plan for a portfolio of donors and prospects. Essential Functions:
Annual United Way Campaign
Plan and conduct successful annual United Way campaign, including 100+ workplace campaigns
• Design and implement a written annual strategic campaign plan, including a well thought out and organized campaign structure with clearly defined roles for volunteers and a set schedule of planning meetings to set goals and monitor progress of the campaign.
• Maintain weekly campaign schedule of company solicitations by regular contact with companies and conduct and/or assign staff, loaned executives and other volunteers to conduct solicitations.
• Manage and conduct the daily/weekly activities of the campaign (including, but not limited to, campaign presentations, campaign trainings).
• Prepare, maintain, and update all campaign records, reports, materials, and data in data base.
• Analyze and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of past workplace campaigns and develop new strategies; set goals, timetables, and schedules for all areas of the campaign; maintain an awareness of economic factors in the community impacting workplace campaigns.
• Organize and conduct annual fundraising events, including, but not limited to, campaign kick off, special leadership functions, campaign celebration and annual meeting.
• Develop new prospects, techniques, strategies, and promotions for annual workplace campaigns and related activities.&nbsp;
Leadership Giving, Planned Giving &amp; Major Gifts
Develop and implement successful programs to generate resources from leadership givers, individual philanthropists, and estate planning.
Donor Recognition
Organize and review routine donor acknowledgement and conduct specialized recognition programs for donors and volunteers.
Reporting and Record Keeping
Responsible for keeping accurate and organized records of all fundraising activities, annual reports for United Way Worldwide, including Database 2, annual budgeting, and annual audit reports.
Effective Supervision
Responsible for directing, supporting, and evaluating all resource development staff and volunteers.
Assist in the day-to-day operations as needed.
Job Relationships:
Maintain frequent contact with all other United Way staff, as well as with local businesses that run campaigns, prospective campaign businesses, volunteers, agencies, organizations, and the public, to provide information and guidance for conducting the campaign.&nbsp;&nbsp;
	Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of successful fundraising experience are required.
• Necessary job skills and attributes include full range of professional sales skills from prospecting to closing.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, advanced interpersonal / relational skills, presentation skills, and computer skills including database management, and fundraising reports.
• Experience with Andar donor base software preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
• United Way experience preferred.
• Position also requires extensive local (Plymouth County) travel and occasional evening and weekend appointments.

Summary:&nbsp; Acts as a proactive liaison to United Way, the community, and partners by promoting support, positive communication, and outreach. Participates in community needs assessments and allocations processes to ensure the effectiveness of programs that address critical needs in the community.&nbsp; Supports the recruitment and active work of volunteers to assist with the mission of the organization.&nbsp; Represents and communicates United Way in a highly visible, positive manner as a collaborative, impactful and trustworthy organization. Maintains regular contact with United Way staff, and the Board of Directors as well as with donors, community partners, and other community stakeholders to provide information and guidance to maximize United Way’s visibility, viability, and community impact.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities: 
Community Relations – 35%
<ul><li>Directly coordinates and facilitates specific community coalitions, including but not limited to Brockton &amp; Plymouth Community Health Network Areas.</li>
<li>Promotes strong relationships with both member and non-member community health and human service organizations through positive communication and attendance at meetings and events.</li>
<li>Liaison to Board Community Impact Committee, recruits and maintains Allocation Panelists, oversees RFP Process, including revising and collecting all forms and reports and managing online grant portal.&nbsp; Prepares spreadsheet with scores for Community Impact Committee and Board of Directors.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Revises, issues, collects, and recaps all Year End Success Reports.</li>
<li>Represents the United Way through membership and active involvement in community groups and organizations.</li>
<li>Assist with the development and implementation of a community needs assessment.</li>

</ul>Publicity/Marketing – 35%
<ul><li>Regularly produce and distribute press releases to local press outlets, radio, and cable to publicize United Way community involvement.</li>

<li>Assists with public forums and special events to promote United Way community engagement.</li>
