<h4><strong>Overview</strong></h4><p>Do you have a passion for making the connections and telling the stories that inspire people to give back in your community? Berkshire United Way is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented professional to coordinate, lead, and make continuous improvements to approximately 80 employee giving campaigns, and to engage and motivate individuals and businesses to share their time and talent with the community as volunteers.</p><p>As Workplace and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to develop relationships with local employers to sustain and grow BUW’s workplace fundraising program. You will have the chance to use your creativity to develop and implement innovative ideas, connect with donors and communicate the impact, power, and necessity of BUW’s mission and investment in building a thriving community. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization to raise funds that fuel BUW’s community impact work.</p><p>In addition to managing relationships and results for BUW’s workplace fundraising, you also will help recruit and support volunteers to meet identified community needs across Berkshire County. This coordination of volunteer services is an extension of both BUW’s fundraising and community impact work.</p><h4><strong>Workplace Giving and Fundraising</strong></h4><ul><li>Lead, manage and continuously improve all aspects of annual workplace giving campaign program.</li><li>Clearly and enthusiastically communicate Berkshire United Way’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and community impact.</li><li>Cultivate community support for Berkshire United Way by developing and maintaining positive relationships with local organizations, businesses, and individuals.</li><li>Train and support employee campaign coordinators and be the main point of contact between local businesses and BUW.</li><li>Monitor campaign progress and identify opportunities for revenue growth. &nbsp;</li><li>Develop and update print and online campaign materials in collaboration with the development team.</li><li>Provide accurate data and reports on campaign progress to the Development Director, President and CEO, and Board of Directors.</li><li>Serve as a member of the BUW development team and contribute to all fundraising and community engagement initiatives as directed.</li><li>Share activities, progress and success stories with communication and marketing staff for use in all BUW communications.</li></ul><h4><strong>Volunteer Engagement</strong></h4><ul><li>Design, execute, evaluate, and continuously improve BUW’s volunteer engagement strategic plan.</li><li>Administer BUW’s online volunteer center platform to facilitate the connection between volunteers and community engagement opportunities; seek sponsorship opportunities to cover the cost of the platform.</li><li>Identify and curate volunteer opportunities at BUW as well as with other nonprofit agencies, as an extension of BUW’s work to create a thriving community across Berkshire County.</li><li>Recruit, motivate, manage, support, and recognize individual volunteers and corporate teams to meet the needs of the community.</li><li>Inspire volunteers to deepen their connection by becoming donors to BUW.</li><li>Share activities, progress and success stories with communication and marketing staff for use in social media, PR, website, eblasts, annual reports and other channels.</li><li>Align BUW’s volunteer engagement work with the overall BUW mission and brand – create opportunities to promote and recognize BUW’s role as a volunteer organizer.</li></ul><h4><strong>Job Requirements</strong></h4><p>To meet the day-to-day responsibilities of this job, be an effective member of the Berkshire United Way team, and be successful in this role, you should possess a combination of the following knowledge and skills:</p><p><strong>Knowledge</strong></p><ul><li>Understanding of fundraising concepts, principles, strategies, and best practices.</li><li>Awareness of economic, political, and social factors which may affect community needs and fundraising results.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Fundraising experience with emphasis on customer relationship building and/or customer service.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication and public speaking skills.</li><li>Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, track results, meet deadlines, and maintain very strong attention to detail.</li><li>Must have a positive and collaborative attitude and a strong sense of self-motivation.</li><li>Knowledge of donor database management is a plus.</li><li>Proficiency with Windows operating system: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.</li><li>Experience managing or using social media platforms for business.&nbsp;</li></ul><h4><strong>Schedule Flexibility</strong></h4><p>Flexible schedule to occasionally attend events that may occur in the early morning, evening, and weekends. In addition, to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, travel to various companies and/or agencies is required within Berkshire County. Workplace and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

<p>We are searching for a <strong>Health Initiatives Manager&nbsp;</strong>to be part of our United Way team located in Hartford Connecticut. This position&nbsp;will contribute to progress toward United Way's impact goals around health and wellbeing by developing, implementing, and managing the operations of United Way’s health-related initiatives, as well as supporting other projects and initiatives that address disparities related to the social drivers of health. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This position’s responsibilities include providing management for department projects and initiatives; developing, monitoring, and participating in partnerships and collaborations to advance impact goals; and administering health contracts and grants.&nbsp;</p><p><i><strong>What you will do:</strong></i></p><ul><li>Provide strong management support of department projects and initiatives including contract and budget management and relationship-building, internally and externally, that will advance health goals.</li><li>Understand local communities and develop and maintain effective relationships with community stakeholders and public/private partners to address United Way priorities.</li><li>Oversee management of a portfolio of initiatives, collaboratives, and projects.</li><li>Develop knowledge of United Way of Central and Northeastern CT programs and initiatives and represent United Way in the community as needed.</li><li>Serve as liaison to selected funded partner agencies within the scope of United Way’s health portfolio.</li><li>Facilitate effective cross-functional teamwork with internal and external partners.</li><li>Assist with special projects that relate to efforts around health and wellbeing.</li><li>Coordinate process for securing content for development of health-related grant applications; write copy for grant applications and provide support for the completion of grant-related reports.</li><li>Monitor outcomes of investments in programs and initiatives.</li><li>Year-round relationship management for assigned partners.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Support director with managing budgets and monthly goals to achieve deliverables efficiently and effectively.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other duties as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree and/or 2-4 years of equivalent experience relevant to this role.</li><li>Availability Monday – Friday, from 9am-5pm.
