POSITION SUMMARYThe Philanthropy Officer plays an integral role in growing a culture of individual philanthropy that is respectful and transparent to donors while meeting UWM’s fundraising needs. This position is responsible for designing and implementing an annual giving plan, along with supporting a major gifts program, to meet the position revenue goals. Reporting to the Senior Director of Individual Giving in Resource Development, the Philanthropy Officer is responsible for research, strategy, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts from a portfolio of leadership donors in the Palmetto Society. Palmetto Society are donors giving $1,000 to $9,999 annually. This position will work with the Director of Women In Philanthropy and Young Leaders Society to identify individual donors who have capacity to raise their giving. Successfully develops new and varied resources from donors, achieving specified benchmarks and improving relationships. This position focuses on relationship-building strategies that create consistent and positive experiences for donors. This position is responsible for stewardship process for gifts from donors giving $1,000 to $9,999.ESSENTIAL DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES Workplace Campaigns <ul><li>Work closely with campaign managers to identify donors who are near or at the Palmetto Society level to establish a relationship with them in efforts to raise their giving. </li><li>Develop key relationships with leadership donors. </li><li>Recruit and retain Palmetto Society donors within workplace campaigns.</li><li>Perform year-round account research to identify new prospects and stay current on industry trends.  </li></ul>Donor Engagement  <ul><li>Manage the Palmetto Society Cabinet which is responsible for peer-to-peer growth of the Palmetto Society through their own community connections. Palmetto Society are those donors giving $1,000 to $9,999 annually. </li><li>Work closely with volunteers, and internal departments to set and accomplish annual and long-term goals to attract and sustain resources and engage and recognize donors year-round.  </li><li>Coordinating engagement and stewardship events for leadership donors.</li><li>Manage the acknowledgement process for donors giving $1,000 to $9,999.</li><li>Collaborate and work with Senior Director of Individual Giving, on events, strategies for individual giving and work as a partner in accomplishing individual giving revenue goals for UWM.</li><li>Collaborate with team members on special projects involving workplace campaigns and affinity groups.  </li><li>Utilize StratusLIVE (CRM) to record visits and communications, as well as gather and maintain accurate donor information.  </li><li>Develop and implement leadership giving growth strategies.  </li><li>Collaborate with the Community Impact staff and partners to understand and effectively articulate how leadership and affinity group donor dollars support UWM’s work in the community.  </li><li>All other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Leadership Giving ($1,000 - $9,999) <ul><li>Assist with creation and implementation of strategic plan for leadership giving, including prospecting, communications, cultivation, retention, moves management, and stewardship. </li><li>Identify prospective leadership donors inside and outside workplace settings by working closely with UWM’s Resource Development staff.  </li><li>Meet an annual individual giving revenue goal from assigned portfolio. </li><li>Conduct at least 50 unique in person meetings a year and record the results/information in StratusLIVE.</li><li>Work with Senior Director of Individual Giving to identify Palmetto Society members who have the capacity and interest in joining the Tocqueville Society or Tocqueville Step Up Program. 	financial planning, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, tax, treasury and accounting operations as well as IT Operations and

Leadership 
	• Leads staff in areas of finance, human resources, data systems, and operations 
	• Brings strong financial leadership and excellence in all areas of finance 
	• Has the ability to examine and understand strategic business needs and develops financial plans to support those needs 
	• Provides financial analysis, forecasts and implications, and compliance review for strategic planning and initiatives. 
	• Monitors business performance with tracking tools, establishes correction measures as needed, and prepares detailed reports 
	for Board, Committees, management team, and staff 
	• Fulfills leadership role as a member of Senior Leadership Team.
Finance &amp; Operations 
	• Manages and actively participates in month-end close cycle including: accounts receivable, accounts payable, grants 
	receivable, revenue/expenses, bank reconciliations, cash flow projections, etc. 
	• Creates and presents an accurate annual budget recognizing income and expenses by class and grant. Works in collaboration 
	with team to garner information, support, and commitment to execute the financial work plan. Prepares budget forecasts for 
	future organizational planning. 
	• Maintains integrity of all financial transactions. Requires that income recognized and expenses incurred comply with the 
	organization’s policies and procedures, United Way Worldwide, and state and federal laws. Creates and maintains financial 
	standards and internal control procedures to comply with GAAP and FASB standards. Maintains relationship with financial 
	institutions, makes deposits, audits and reconcile accounts and processes, etc. 
	• Provides financial statement analysis and recommends areas of opportunities to staff and peers. Reports statement variances 
	to President / CEO, Finance Committee, and staff. 
	• Reviews, reconciles, prepares, and submits accurate information for Financial Audit and Form 990. Works with auditors for 
	timely compliance with requests and achieves a clean audit opinion. 
	• Maintains integrity of data systems, information gathered and input, and processes to produce accurate data consistently. 
	• Oversees grant compliance as related to financial activity. Reviews grant applications, budgets, and relevance to mission of 
	organization. 
	• Works with team to reconcile grant income and expenses, adhering to grant award criteria and standards. 
	• Reviews organizational contracts seeking mutual agreement while protecting the reputation and assets of the organization. 
	Recommends action to President / CEO. 
	• Conducts risk assessment and recommends action to President / CEO as needed. 
	• Procures insurance coverage for worker’s compensation, D&amp;O, EPLI, General Liability, and Property. Manages claims 
	processing as needed. 
	• Creates capital expenditures budget and manages capital related improvements. 
	• Maintains personal property inventory and depreciation schedule. 
	• Reviews and authorizes work as related to data management, information systems update, communications technology, etc.
Human Resources 
	• Maintains HR files including employee personnel files and annual compliance records/reports
• Responsible for preparation of offer of employment packages. Processes all hiring and benefits paperwork involved. 
	• Manages confidential information with integrity. 
	• Processes biweekly payroll for employees including compensation, expense reimbursements, deductions as allowed by 
	employee and law, PTO/holidays, garnishments, etc. 
	• Manages benefits in areas of medical insurance, HSA / FSA contributions, LTD, STD, ADD, Life, Vision, PTO, Leave, 401k 
	plan, and Employee Assistance Program. Provides staff with information regarding benefits upon hiring and during annual 
	meeting. Complies with laws and regulations, reporting benefits, form 5500, earned income, COBRA coverage, etc. Secures 
	specifications, quotes, reviews plans, and recommends benefit plan for approval. Refers employees to carriers as needed to 
	resolve questions and problems. 
	• Assists in the on-boarding of employees by producing new hire information packets and ensuring enrollment in systems. 
	• Performs HR related duties in conjunction with the President / CEO in areas of employee recognition and employee relations. 
	• Processes monthly benefits plan invoices for payment. 
	• Annually conducts open enrollment for employee benefit plans. 
	• Ensures that organization complies with employment law and mitigates risks associated with employment practices. 
	• Updates policy manual as needed to align with organizational and legal requirements. 
	• Creates and maintains systems for internal equity with skill set assessment, job banding, etc. 
	• Initiates/maintains continuation of benefits post-employment including COBRA coverage notification with employees and 
	carriers.
General 
	• Maintains work flow and organization, prioritizing tasks to best meet the overall needs of the organization. 
	• Promotes United Way of Central Minnesota, its, Mission, Vision, Core Values, programs, and achievements to the public and 
	staff.

Position Title: Coordinator, Community Giving &amp; Engagement Status: Full-time, exempt Salary: An amount of $50,000.00 annually. How You'll Help 
	Responsible for supporting donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of leadership and active community donors in support of Mile High United Way's fundraising efforts through individual, corporate and employee engagement relationships. Establish, grow, and strengthen relationships with employers, internal influencers, and employees to maximize corporate and employee community involvement in order to grow individual donor relationships and giving. Responsible for providing coordination and support to the Resource Development team to raise funds and increase revenue for Mile High United Way.
Essential Responsibilities
<ul><li>Corresponds with, actively stewards and solicits gifts from individual donors through personal contact and correspondence to educate and engage them in the Mile High United Way movement with the goal to begin and increase their personal giving</li>
<li>Develop and implement annual and long-range plans for individual portfolio of donors who give between $1,000-$10,000</li>
<li>Manage or support a limited portfolio of corporate relationships and workplace giving campaigns</li>
<li>Work with the Community Giving team in Resource Development to:
<ul><li>Assist with the development and implementation of annual and long-range plans for individual donors to increase giving and levels of participation</li>
<li>Assist in the development and implementation of donor recognition</li>
<li>Provide input on the creation of collaterals related to annual individual donors</li>
<li>Research and maintain current and prospective individual donors within portfolio</li>

</ul>What You'll Need: Education, Experience, and Skills
<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in humanities, business, finance, or equivalent experience required</li>
<li>1-3 years successful experience in fundraising, management, and one-on-one solicitation; experience with building corporate partnerships a plus</li>
<li>Additional successful experience in funds development including, proposal writing, prospect research, volunteer management, annual individual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and donor cultivation and recognition</li>
