By dialing 211 callers are linked to information about local health, human service, and disaster related resources. 211 brings people and community resources together. There are 8 locally based 211 contact centers in Wisconsin, including the United Way Fox Cities (UWFC) 211.&nbsp;The Community Connection Navigator will work collaboratively with UWFC and 211 staff, local agencies and other community partners to remove barriers and improve access to basic needs services.This position is in partnership with the United Way Fox Cities AmeriCorps Program. To learn more about AmeriCorps, please visit&nbsp;<a href="https://americorps.gov/" target="_blank">https://americorps.gov/</a>.&nbsp;DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;<ul><li>Gain an in-depth understanding of local/statewide health and human service resources</li><li>Answer calls/texts/chats to 211 and connect callers to community non-profits and government services</li><li>Advocate for individuals experiencing difficulty or lacking the ability needed to navigate agencies,&nbsp;programs, and services.</li><li>Assist with peer support services for adults struggling to find a path to recovery.</li><li>Facilitate, support, and coordinate collaborative initiatives which may include housing/shelter navigation, peer support services, and other partnerships to address barriers to accessing resources to support Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).&nbsp;This could include attending community meetings, creating a project roadmap, helping design call or project workflows, calling individuals who need assistance in participating counties.&nbsp;</li><li>Attend outreach events and provide support of 211 service including digital access &amp; navigation programming.</li><li>Attend and participate in AmeriCorps program training on a variety of topics, including program orientation all-member team training and networking opportunities, community service projects, etc. These trainings occur through a combination virtual and in-person.</li><li>Complete AmeriCorps paperwork, such as monthly reports, feedback surveys, etc.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:&nbsp;<ul><li>Bilingual preferred – English/Spanish</li><li>Ability to communicate and work effectively and with a high level of professionalism with staff, community members, partners, and other stakeholders.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience working in the mental health and substance use services system is preferred, including training to provide support to adults struggling to find a path to recovery.</li><li>Self- motivated, goal oriented, and organized – ability to get the job done.&nbsp;</li><li>Meets deadlines and completes tasks with a high degree of accuracy and dependability.</li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and cloud-based technology&nbsp;</li><li>Passion for helping people</li><li>Be 18 years or older at the beginning of their service</li><li>At minimum, hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
