Position Summary The Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and financial stewardship for United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) by partnering with the Executive Management Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The Vice President of Finance and CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of UWTSA in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate for not-for-profit organizations. The Vice President of Finance and CFO will assist in fiscal function of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona Capital Corporation. Work with program staff on financial aspects of grants. Ensure reconciliation of all grants with general ledger on a regular basis and ensure completion of all forms as required by grantor.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization (i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position).&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group and provide individuals with professional and personal growth.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide technical financial advice and knowledge and excellent customer services as a component of all job duties. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the corporation may enter.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Lead and recommend financial efficiencies to ensure continuous improvement of accounting systems.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in the Facilities Team for maintaining occupancy of facilities/space in buildings on the United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona campus. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:&nbsp; Leads and/or builds a team that enables UWTSA to succeed. QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp; Experience, Competencies and Education&nbsp; Minimum Qualifications:&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field with 10 or more years of progressive responsibility and financial leadership.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At least five or more years of not-for-profit experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At least five or more years of senior management/executive level experience involving strategic reporting, budgeting, data analysis, financial management and compliance for organizations with complex revenue streams.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;At least five or more years managing staff at the director and/or manager level with demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships.
