United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and (UWLHG) is a volunteer driven organization dedicated to improving 
the quality of life for all people in our community. This is accomplished through fundraising, fund distribution 
(90+ partners), community building, volunteer advancement, and information and referral. UWLHG is a $16 
million nonprofit social services organization, with 75+employees in four locations with the main campus

Job Summary 
 
The Community Resource Specialist is the direct liaison with people seeking information and help from health 
and human service programs. It is the responsibility of the Resource Specialist to work with those in crisis and 
in need of services to ensure that they receive prompt and accurate information regarding human services. 
This communication will require problem solving and follow-up services. This position will be cross-trained to 
facilitate 988 (formerly known as the Suicide Hotline) and Mission United (veteran-focused) calls and will also 
be required to complete associated certifications within three months of being eligible (Inform USA certified as 
well as additional 988-related trainings). 

 
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions 

• Provides high quality Information and Referral Services to both individuals and agencies. 

• Assists clients and agencies with problem solving to arrive at helpful solutions. Types of calls will include 
basic needs, mental health (possible suicide threats), homelessness and medical requests. 

• Assist/screens clients applying for various programs including Affordable Healthcare, Help Me Grow, Mission 
United, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), Medicaid, and Food Stamps. 

• Conducts comprehensive needs and service assessments via telephone, email or Text/Chat 

• Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of client information. 

• Accurately documents client assessments and referrals in program data system. 

• Assists with the data management and quality assurance process of United Way 2-1-1 by: 
o Surveying agencies in the 2-1-1 database at regular intervals, but at least annually. 
o Updating existing agency and program profiles after reported changes have been verified in a timely 

manner upon receipt of submissions.

o Conducting interviews, as needed, with appropriate agency contacts, asking clarifying questions in

United Way 211 First Responder/veteran Care Coordinator

United Way of West Florida is seeking an Achieve Escambia Manager to join our Community Impact Department to nurture and grow the existing civic infrastructure to improve educational outcomes from cradle through career in Escambia County.&nbsp;The Manager will facilitate community-wide engagement; oversee the Collective Action Networks (CANS) (Kindergarten Readiness Collective Action Network (KCAN) and Local College Access Network (LCAN) as well as the data committee; and otherwise oversee the day-to-day operations of the community initiative Achieve Escambia. PURPOSE: The Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (SVP/COO) supports the 

mission of United Way of El Paso County (UWEPC) by leading a team of 
passionate and committed individuals to develop and sustain deep redesign of its 
strategy and operations. 

 
The SVP/COO will lead operations, assisting the CEO in governance and 
corporate administrative matters, including business/strategic planning and 
organizational change efforts. The SVP/COO will provide supervision and 
oversight to staff teams and departments, in addition to representing the 
organization in the CEO’s absence in public meetings, events and with volunteers 
and other stakeholders to further United Way’s interests. 

 
 
POSITION OVERVIEW: 

Demonstrate ability to think strategically about the unique role, approaches and contributions of 
United Way of El Paso County. 

Ability to develop and implement United Way’s overall business/organizational strategy, 
integrating the functional areas into highly effective community impact response to critical

Have extensive experience in leading high-performing teams (volunteers and staff) in the design 
and delivery of results-based, high-profile, large-scale initiatives, programs and advocacy/public 
policy efforts. 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provide leadership and management to a high-performing team of volunteers, staff and 
community members by clarifying priorities, creating and monitoring progress towards 
organizational and individual goals. Working closely with the CEO and Board, direct the 
cultivation, solicitation, execution, and stewardship of UWEPC’s resources. 
 
Philanthropy and Engagement 

ï· Assist the implementation of corporate partnerships and their employees through new 
engagement opportunities, existing initiatives and lead the change management process 
for a successful philanthropy transformation.

secure new mutually beneficial partnerships across a variety of industries and sectors.

employee engagement, event attendance, communications, etc. 

ï· Oversee Engagement (Marketing &amp; Communications); produce compelling digital and 
printed corporate giving assets to promote our work, elevate our existing partners, and

Administrative/Operations Functions 

ï· Oversight of Human Resources functions, including establishing staff benefits and policies 
designed for attracting and retaining qualified staff.

ï· Perform duties in accordance with UWEPC policies and procedures 

ï· Manage department budget and expenses including planning and management of budget 
line items for specific outcomes. 

ï· Direct and manage employees, interns, consultants, and volunteers. 

ï· Ensure staff work plans meet organizational goals and objectives. 

ï· Counsel and assist staff in professional growth and development within UWEPC and the 
community. Conduct timely performance evaluations.

basis, present results and challenges to board and senior staff. 
 

Budgeting and Risk Management 

ï· Assist in establishing an annual budget plan.

ï· Oversee the contract approval process to ensure contractual terms and cost effectiveness. 

ï· Participate in the financial internal control system as required. 

ï· Manage progress towards revenue goals throughout the year, providing monthly 
projections against goal, with a strong emphasis on understanding and follow-up of 
revenue projected. 

ï· Ensure accurate and detailed donor and account records in order to analyze deployment 
of resources against objectives; assign relationship management responsibilities 
throughout the Corporate Partnerships team; assess and evaluate areas of responsibility 
and adjust resources across all industries and portfolios as needed to drive increased
