In this dynamic position, you will play a vital role in supporting participating partner agencies, troubleshooting planning issues, recruiting volunteers, coordinating logistics, and leading a team of volunteers on the day of the event.&nbsp;MLK Day of Service is an annual signature project of United Way with more than 500 participating volunteers in 3 counties.Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Partner Agency Support:<ul><li>Connect with participating partner agencies to understand their volunteer project &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; needs.</li><li>Conduct on-site visits to troubleshoot planning issues and provide hands-on support.</li><li>Deliver necessary items and supplies to partner agencies.</li><li>Support trainings for partner agencies, internal staff and volunteers.</li></ul>Volunteer Recruitment and Leadership:<ul><li>Recruit volunteers for partner agencies, ensuring a diverse and engaged group.</li><li>Lead and inspire volunteers, providing guidance and support throughout the planning and execution phases.</li><li>Develop and distribute supply lists for volunteers and partner agencies.</li></ul>Event Logistics:<ul><li>Support the overall planning and execution of the MLK Day of Service &nbsp;&nbsp; event.</li><li>Collaborate with internal teams, external partners and vendors to coordinate logistics prior to and during the event.</li><li>Supports pre-work, set up of event, breakdown of event, debriefs, after-event communication and reporting</li><li>Play a key role in on-site operations during the event, addressing any issues that may arise and leading and supervising volunteers</li></ul>Follow-up Work:<ul><li>Assist in post-event activities, including debrief sessions with partner agencies and internal staff</li><li>Collect feedback and insights to improve future events.</li><li>Contribute to the preparation of post-event reports.</li></ul>Volunteer and Community Engagement Department Support:<ul><li>Report directly to the Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement.</li><li>Provide regular updates on any logistical or volunteer coordination activities.</li><li>Collaborate with the United Way of NEFL internal MLK team on any additional tasks related to the MLK Day of Service project.</li><li>Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the supervisory team</li><li>These job responsibilities are to be the main emphasis of this position.&nbsp; MLK Day Event Coordinator

OVERVIEWExciting opportunity for retirees, stay-at-home parents, college students or anyone looking for a part-time, flexible job!&nbsp;The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Site Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an orderly, efficient, and welcoming site; ensuring Quality Requirements are executed; coordinating volunteer schedules; and providing excellent customer service to clients and volunteers. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program provides low-to-moderate income households with free assistance to file their income tax return.This is a temporary contract position established for the 2025 tax season, to begin at time of hire and end April 30, with the possibility of some hours through May to accommodate off-season needs.&nbsp; The position has a flexible working schedule, averaging 20 hours per week.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSite Management:<ul><li>Organize waiting areas and workstations for tax preparers with necessary resources and supplies.</li><li>Ensure all required paperwork and forms are stocked for each tax appointment.</li><li>Review intake paperwork and discuss with clients.</li><li>Assist clients through the tax filing process.</li><li>Maintain orderly clients’ files and ensure security of confidential paper and electronic files.</li><li>Communicate supply needs to the Program Manager for ordering.</li><li>Ensure the site closely adheres to the Quality Site Requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure the site adheres to Title VI by not denying service to anyone based on race, color, sex, age, national origin, or disability.&nbsp;</li></ul>Personnel Management:<ul><li>Communicate with volunteer preparers to ensure appropriate coverage is maintained for each day the site is open.</li><li>Communicate with volunteers regarding coverage and attendance.</li><li>&nbsp;Track volunteer attendance and hours of service.&nbsp; Prepare monthly volunteer time report for the site to be submitted to the VITA Program Manager.</li><li>Support volunteer appreciation activities.</li><li>(In some cases) supervise administrative staff responsible for greeting clients.</li></ul>Communication:<ul><li>Serve as a main point of contact for clients. PURPOSE 
The United Way of Hancock County is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual 
to join our team as a Research and Data Analyst that will assist with grant research and 
program development. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY 
The candidate will play a key role in advancing UWHC’s Vulnerable Children’s Initiative (VCI) by 
helping to identify opportunities, interpret and use data to assist with crafting compelling grant 
proposals, and support community solutions and the efforts of the Community Impact 
Manager. UWHC’s VCI works to ensure every child in Hancock County has access to a 
supportive environment conducive to their well-being and educational success. Because this is 
a new effort at UWHC the best candidate will be a self-starter with a proven ability to manage a 
variety of data and software platforms and to help develop, systematically organize, monitor 
and track program development. Creativity, analysis, results and details will be key components 
to the role.AM 
 
Program Development (30%) 
 • Collaborate with the Community Impact Manager to identify external funding opportunities 

aligned with the VCI initiative by leveraging community reporting and data 
 • Assist in the development of comprehensive and compelling grant proposals, integrating 

data analytic insights to enhance proposal content 
 • Conduct research and utilize data analysis to strengthen grant applications and provide 

evidence-based support 
 • Assist with the implementation of systems to protect vulnerable children and strengthen 

families. 
 • Collaborative efforts between local nonprofits, government agencies, and community 

leaders to address the needs of vulnerable children. 
 

Research Support (50%) 
 • Offer guidance on researching and identifying potential funding opportunities, emphasizing 

the use of data reports to learn about the needs of the community and UWHC initiatives 
 • Provide research assistance in grant-related projects, utilizing data analytics tools and 

techniques 
 • Assist with data collection, analysis, and interpretation efforts as needed for proposals, 

ensuring a data-driven approach to grant writing 
 • Contribute to the preparation of research reports and presentations, incorporating data 

findings to enhance credibility of grant proposals 
 

Administrative Support(20%) 
 • Collaborate with the Community Impact Manager to identify optimal grant opportunities 

utilizing data-driven insights for strategic decision-making 


 • Organize and manage database and spreadsheet records of grant applications, 
submissions, approvals, and outcomes 

 • Collaborate with the UWHC team to gain insights into the inner workings of the non-profit 
industry 

 
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE 
 • Strong work ethic with the ability to fit in with the UWHC service based culture 
 • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on data analytics, research, or a related field; undergraduate 

students with relevant experience considered
