Position Overview
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and relationship-focused Manager of Individual Philanthropy to grow and deepen our Leadership Giving donor base. This role reports to the Director of Individual Philanthropy and requires a self-starter and quick learner with a proven ability to take initiative and build strong connections. The Manager is responsible for cultivating one-on-one relationships with donors contributing $1,000 or more annually, meeting fundraising goals, and leading engagement efforts for the Young Leaders Society (YLS) affinity group. This position plays a key role in donor stewardship, volunteer coordination, and committee engagement to inspire lasting philanthropic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and manage meaningful one-on-one relationships with Leadership Giving donors.
- Lead the Young Leaders Society (YLS), including volunteer recruitment, committee coordination, and event planning.
- Provide support to the Director of Individual Philanthropy in the cultivation and engagement of all levels of Leadership Giving donors, including those connected to the Women United affinity group.
- Develop and implement a strategic annual calendar of donor touchpoints and activities.
- Execute stewardship efforts, including personalized outreach and donor recognition.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Philanthropy team to identify and cultivate new giving opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date records of donor interactions in CRM systems (e.g., ANDAR).
- Represent UWCF at community functions and networking events to build donor relationships and promote the mission.
- Use social media and community presence to expand engagement and visibility.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in direct fundraising, including one-on-one donor engagement, asking for donations, and stewarding relationships to foster giving.
- Strong skills in volunteer management, including recruiting, training, and engaging volunteers effectively.
- Exceptional ability to build, cultivate, and deepen donor relationships.
- Familiarity with the local community, philanthropic landscape, and key stakeholders is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM systems such as ANDAR is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasionally early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, or community engagement.
- Track record of highly successful donor or volunteer relationship development.
- Familiarity with the local philanthropic landscape is preferred.
Additional Requirements
This position requires the ability to travel locally throughout the county to attend events, donor meetings, and volunteer engagements. Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver’s license are required. When not in the field, an in-office presence is expected at UWCF’s Lakeland headquarters.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $50,000–$55,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. UWCF offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
