United Way of Greater High Point

About

“We fight for the education, health, and financial stability of every person in our community.”

United Way of Greater High Point, Inc. develops community resources and partnerships that support a broad array of critical health and human service needs in our community. Resources are focused on community impact programs that promote and improve education, financial stability, and health in Greater High Point. Dating back nearly 100 years ago as the “Community Chest”, funds were given to original partner agencies including American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, the YMCA, the YWCA and the Boy Scouts. These agencies and 23 others are still supported by United Way of Greater High Point today.

FAQ:
Does United Way of Greater High Point follow the UWW model for Community Impact?
UWGHP follows a very modified version of Community Impact. We still have partner agencies (28) and fund programs at those agencies, but not outside those agencies. When funds allow we have offered Venture Grants to non-partner agencies. We have a very strong partnership with our partner agencies and feel that benefits us greatly during the campaign.
What are the working hours?
Our offices are open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are pretty flexible along as the work gets done. We typically close early on Fridays.
What software is used for operations?
We use Andar and Community Connect for our campaign software. We use Acumatica for our financial software. Upic manages our IT needs. We are one of the founding United Ways in the formation of Upic and currently sit on the board of Upic.
What benefits are offered?
UWGHP currently offers Health Insurance (HSA), 403(b) retirement plan (currently paying 8.3% of salary which is subject to change), Life Insurance, Short-Term Liability and Accidental Death & Dismemberment. Employees can have between 2 - 4 weeks of vacation depending on years of service. In addition to vacation, each employee gets 6 days of sick leave, 3 days of personal leave and 3 days of bereavement leave.
