Our Mission is Simple: Address the human service needs of Douglas County by mobilizing community resources and building partnerships.


Our Goals are Big: Advance the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. To do so, we focus on ensuring everyone achieves education, has access to health care and gets the tools and support they need to achieve self sufficiency, because these are the foundation of a good quality of life. 

When children succeed in school, families move from crisis to financial stability, each citizen has access to mental and physical health care, our entire community benefits. 


United Way is Seeing Greater Results: Through our collaborations with our many community partners for each Community Impact goal, we’re seeing innovative programs and initiatives develop and thrive that achieve greater results using a wide variety of resources.

How is the board structured?
An 18 member board of directors meets monthly and reviews financials, resource development progress, and approves community impact plans and associated funding. Each member is committed to one four-year term that is non-renewable. Officers serve one year, except the Resource Development Chair which is a two-year term.
What is the annual budget?
United Way of Douglas County has an annual budget around $1.9 million with many resources coming from grants and other sources in addition to the campaign and donor revenue.
What are the working hours?
The United Way office is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. However to accomodate volunteers and the community, sometimes we work different hours.
Do I have to apply online or can I send in a paper copy of my CV?
United Way will be using this online process to consider applicants. While applicants may be considered that come from other sources, priority will be given to applicants who apply online.
