OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Development Manager is a key member of the Development Team and works to achieve annual revenue and engagement goals through year-round partnerships with companies and workplace employees. Working with senior leadership, the Development Manager will help implement a fundraising plan. The Development Manager will collaborate with colleagues, donors, and volunteers to inspire people to financially support United Way of West Florida’s (UWWF) work.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Through collaboration, ensure UWWF has the financial resources necessary to support community investment grants, community impact initiatives, and the organization’s day to day operations.

Manage a variety of corporate relationships.  
</li>
<li>
Serve as the primary United Way staff to a portfolio of companies and organizations. Collaboratively plan and execute their annual workplace campaigns to achieve or exceed revenue goals. 
</li>
<li>
Develop and grow meaningful year-round relationships with key company leaders, donors, and volunteers.  
</li>
<li>
Serve as a contributing member of the Development team to assist in successfully conducting workplace campaign presentations, special events, and requests for corporate gifts. 
</li>
<li>
Monitor, lead, track and analyze specific fundraising campaigns and special events, identifying corrective measures where necessary. 
</li>
</ul><ul><li>
Effectively communicate the UWWF message to external parties by having a keen understanding of UWWF’s organizational mission, goals, community impact strategies, and community needs.  
</li>
<li>
Develop and deliver effective and appropriate presentations and information to diverse work environments. 
</li>
<li>
Research and analyze corporate partnerships through workplace campaign history, trends, and relationships to develop an action plan that maximizes fundraising efforts.  
</li>
<li>
Develop and implement creative strategies to achieve UWWF’s annual campaign goal. 
</li>
<li>
Provide regular activity status, update projections, and conduct account analysis to monitor results and to address challenges as they arise. 
</li>

Maintain accurate data in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database  
</li>
<li>
Provide monthly report to Director of Development.  
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with workplace campaign coordinators to plan and execute strategic campaigns using effective communication, organization, and customer service skills. 
</li>
<li>
Cultivate volunteer relationships that connect companies and individuals with UWWF. 
</li>
<li>
Maintain strategic interaction with all UWWF volunteers 
</li>

Assist with recruitment, training, and support of Ambassadors. Develop relationships with Ambassadors that foster/enable combined efforts in Workplace Campaigns.  
</li>

Assist with recruitment, training, and support of Development Advisory Council. 
</li>
<li>
Identify prospects and secure new relationships with area companies. 
</li>
</ul>Other:

Work collaboratively with Marketing Team to develop communications and marketing tools needed to support campaign activities.

Positively represent UWWF at networking activities, events, partner agency events and other outside activities that contribute to relationship building and visibility.

Development Manager

<h2>Position Summary </h2>The Resource Development Manager reports to the Senior Vice President of Resource Development and will play a critical role in the management of United Way of Palm Beach County’s corporate workplace fundraising campaigns.  This position will oversee a defined portfolio of corporate relationships to support the total annual workplace revenue goals. Workplace revenue is comprised of employee giving campaigns, workplace-led special events, and corporate gifts. The Resource Development Manager is expected to develop, cultivate, and manage new and existing corporate relationships as part of the overall fundraising strategy. The ideal candidate thrives in a forward-facing role, building relationships and providing excellent customer service. This position will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders as well as work externally with a defined segment of corporate industries to aid in their corporate social responsibility initiatives. This position serves as a key participant of the Campaign Cabinet to support new business and re-engagement business strategies. The Resource Development Manager is essential to the success of United Way of Palm Beach County’s financial commitment to the community to strategically address the most critical needs and create systemic change through helping youth succeed, stabilizing families, and empowering healthy lives.<h2>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</h2>The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>Manage large portfolio of assigned corporate accounts to aid in the planning and execution of corporate “workplace” giving initiatives</li><li>Increase investment in United Way by expanding and diversifying resource development efforts in workplace campaigns with the support of the Campaign Cabinet</li><li>Make presentations and represent United Way of Palm Beach County in the community at local events and workplace campaign kick-offs </li><li>Ensure that accurate, up-to-date information is maintained in the database for assigned portfolio of accounts</li><li>Work in collaboration with full development team to ensure corporate partners are educated and aware of all affinity group engagement opportunities for their employees</li><li>Ability to build consensus and facilitate collaboration and productive relationships with diverse individuals, groups, organizations, and community</li><li>Work closely in partnership with finance and pledge processing for the pledge reconciliation process to help ensure UW is in receipt of full giving amounts</li><li>Manage and monitor progress and results for all assigned accounts</li><li>Work in partnership with assigned temporary campaign staff by participating in the training, support, motivation, problem solving and assessment of assigned accounts</li><li>Collaborate with marketing to develop content for fundraising needs including year-round menu of giving opportunities and other seasonal corporate engagement materials</li><li>Represent UWPBC at public speaking engagements with local businesses and events </li><li>Assist, as assigned by management, with the organization’s disaster response efforts</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Resource Development</li></ul><h2>Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)</h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in the field of sales and/or fundraising, or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in fundraising. </li><li>Must have strong writing skills and be proficient in Word, Excel, and database management</li><li>Ability to manage multiple demands; results oriented and ability to work quickly and accurately </li><li>Experience in working with Boards and volunteers a plus; extremely tactful and diplomatic in dealing with confidential concerns</li><li>Ability to solve problems independently, effectively, and creatively</li><li>Works well with people and engenders trust and confidence from fellow staff and volunteers</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Understanding of and commitment to CRM (customer relationship management)</li></ul>
