Come be a part of something meaningful! &nbsp;The Accounting Manager - Grants and Foundations performs specific lead accountant duties for various grants, programs and accounts. This role is an audit liaison for those programs and accounts and provides excellent customer service to other internal departments, to external donors, and to other stakeholders. A high degree of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality is necessary given financial areas of responsibilities. &nbsp;General Responsibilities:<ul><li>Function as lead accountant for miscellaneous internal grants, community initiative program funds and temporary restricted funds, doing necessary journal entries and reporting to assure funds are spent only to the extent they are available.</li><li>Meticulously tracking all grant funds received, ensuring expenditures strictly adhere to specific guidelines outlined in the grant agreement, classifying costs as either direct or indirect, and maintaining detailed documentation to demonstrate compliance with federal regulations, particularly regarding allowable costs and cost principles outlined in 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards).</li><li>Manage financial accounts as assigned and prepare associated, assigned reconciliations and work papers for annual audit, 5500 and 990 federal returns and other miscellaneous reporting.</li><li>Follow established guidelines for keeping supervisors informed of progress, developments and obtaining approvals.</li></ul> &nbsp;Key Accountabilities:<ul><li>Submit periodic reports to the funding agency detailing grant activity, invoices, and progress updates, and coordinate with program team to ensure compliance including reviews of sub-contractors.</li><li>Engage as primary contact during regular governmental audits related to assigned grants.</li><li>Responsible for the recording of all fixed assets into the Fixed Asset system including the associated general ledger account entries, activities and balances.</li><li>Accountable for the receivables process, including invoicing for receivables from all contractual arrangements, reconciling receivable accounts, generating invoice reports when requested and notifying supervisor or CFO or outstanding invoice amounts.</li></ul> &nbsp;KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):<ul><li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, in accounting or related field, non-profit experience preferred</li><li>Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and 10-key, at a level generally acquired through 1+ years' related experience.</li><li>Computer proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office Suite. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word preferred.</li><li>Minimum of five (5) years' experience in maintaining moderately complicated accounting records and compiling financial reports. ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
United Way of Southeast Missouri (UWSEMO) supports 30 partners that help to address immediate need in our four-county service area. More importantly, we invest significant time and money into addressing what creates need in the first place. With the power of our network and widespread contacts, we tackle big issues like transportation and childcare.
UWSEMO&nbsp;seeks a full-time AmeriCorps Planning Grant Director to oversee our recently awarded AmeriCorps State Planning Grant. The chosen candidate will spend a year researching and identifying solutions to childcare and transportation that can be supported by a 2025 AmeriCorps Operations Grant and AmeriCorps members.&nbsp;If UWSEMO is awarded the Operational Grant, the person in this one-year role may transition into the role of Program Director in 2025, managing the AmeriCorps Program for 1-2 years. Salary for the year is $50,000 plus healthcare benefits, a flexible schedule, sick leave and paid holidays. There is no guarantee of full-time employment beyond the grant period.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The chosen candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and other key staff and will be responsible for managing the Planning Grant and conducting the research, data analysis, design, development, and building of operational readiness to implement the 2025 AmeriCorps program. UWSEMO is a small, flexible team with a supportive work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ul><li>Grant management reporting, evaluation, and communication, including monthly reporting as directed by the planning grant</li>
<li>Research, design, and formalize a program suitable for the AmeriCorps Operations Grant that would include outputs/outcomes, steps to increase organizational capacity, staffing structure, supervision, and training</li>
<li>Continue to develop advisory team to gain input from community partners, staff, stakeholders</li>
<li>Help to prepare and develop internal and outward-facing educational and marketing materials for implementation</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field</li>
<li>At least 5 years of project management experience</li>
<li>Experience with grants, AmeriCorps and nonprofits preferred</li>
<li>Superb verbal and written communication skills, especially in composing and editing materials</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, including managing multiple projects and deadlines and proactively identifying and completing tasks</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and ethical skills, specifically working with volunteers</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite &nbsp;</li>
