POSITION SUMMARY&nbsp;​(Eligible for Hybrid/ 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)The Manager, Social Media is a member of the United Way Worldwide (UWW) Digital Marketing team who supports the implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy to build awareness and engagement growth for United Way Worldwide locally, nationally, and internationally. &nbsp;This role reports to the Director of Social Media.We are looking for someone who is passionate about how social media can be a strategic and invaluable platform for generating awareness and moving audiences to action in support of United Way’s impact areas and can help elevate the work of the United Way Network in creating thriving communities.&nbsp;The ideal candidate understands how trending social content can be used to support UWW’s goals and share UWW’s expertise, has an eye for detail, is a strong writer, and can analyze channel metrics to adjust strategy and content.&nbsp;KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategy &amp; Campaign Development<ul><li>Partner with the Social Media Director to continuously develop and implement cohesive social media strategies that increase UWW’s brand visibility, strengthen audience engagement, and drive social good.</li><li>Lead the development and implementation of a variety of social campaigns in support of brand partnerships, events, fundraising, and overall brand positioning.</li><li>Serve as an integral member of the Digital Marketing team, working across departments to identify content opportunities that drive brand awareness and audience engagement.</li></ul>Social Media Editorial Calendar &amp; Scheduling<ul><li>Lead on overall management of the social media editorial calendar, ensuring timely posting of content across all channels.</li><li>Create engaging content (written and visual) for multiple social channels, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and messaging.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage content scheduling, tagging, and posting to UWW’s social media channels in relevant systems to maintain a consistent online presence and alignment across teams.</li></ul>Event Coverage &amp; Content Capture<ul><li>Attend virtual and in-person UWW events, capturing content (photos, videos, audio) to share across UWW’s social media channels.</li><li>Ensure real-time content creation and sharing during key events to drive engagement and audience connection.</li></ul>Analytics &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Track campaign and post tag content in relevant system to measure the success of social initiatives.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide insights in the monthly, quarterly, and annual data dashboard reports of content and partner with the Social Media Director for strategy refinement.&nbsp;</li></ul>Community Engagement<ul><li>Lead online community management initiatives, responding to comments, messages, and engaging with audience to build deeper relationships on both organic and paid UWW social content.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage social media listening for UWW and CEO channels, identifying key opportunities for engagement and elevating any points of concern.</li><li>Maintain consistent and timely responses to audience inquiries.&nbsp;</li></ul>EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>A minimum of three (3) years of&nbsp;experience in content creation and social media.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of multiple social platforms, familiarity with current best practices, and ability to recognize and leverage emerging trends and platforms. &nbsp;</li><li>Ability to write engaging content for social media with attention to detail.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong cultural competencies and ability to effectively communicate to a diverse, global audience.</li><li>Strong research and analytical skills and ability to synthesize data and brief leadership.</li><li>Experience with social listening and community management.&nbsp;</li><li>Team- and solution-oriented relationship builder and collaborator.</li><li>Ability to organize, set priorities, and manage several projects at once, with minimal supervision.</li><li>Experience with digital fundraising and/or a global nonprofit is a plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Sprout Social, Canva, Adobe suite, and Smartsheet is a plus.</li><li>Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours, when need arises (e.g., covering an after-hours event, responding to breaking news)</li></ul>APPLICATION MATERIALSPlease submit a cover letter and resume to apply.
