Senior Director, Commission on Behavioral Health and Drug&nbsp;PreventionDepartment:&nbsp; Community Impact, Commission on Behavioral Health and&nbsp;Drug Prevention&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Reports to:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Vice President, Health Initiatives&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Status:&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Exempt, Full-Time&nbsp;(Grant Funded) &nbsp;General Description: This position is responsible for the Commission on Behavioral Health and Drug Prevention overall governance, operations, and performance, including community building, relations and media management, and effective collaborations with stakeholders and volunteers. &nbsp;This position is responsible for the oversight of Commission initiatives and staff management. This position oversees all Commission administrative, budgetary, and sustainability activities.Primary Job Responsibilities &amp; Duties:&nbsp;<ol><li>Serves as the lead administrator of the Commission</li><li>Has the primary duty of coordinating and leading the day-to-day operations of the Commission team</li><li>Supervises, trains, and develops Commission staff&nbsp;</li><li>Develops, executes, and manages (including monitoring) of the Commission Comprehensive Community Action Plan&nbsp;</li><li>Represents the Commission, cultivating key community relationships, media contacts, and stakeholders and assuring excellent customer service</li><li>Monitors relevant community mental health and substance use indicators</li><li>Measures progress on key outcomes and compliance obligations</li><li>Works with community leaders to strengthen the ability to identify, address, and resolve priority mental health and substance use issues</li></ol>Other Job Duties:&nbsp;<ul><li>Manages the Commission Board of Governors inclusive of membership recruitment, community alliance building, and networking</li><li>Conducts performance appraisals with Commission staff</li><li>Oversees the planning, operations, integration, and evaluation of all Commission initiatives, programs, and services</li><li>Develops and implements Commission policies and procedures&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinates activities and communications with appropriate organizations, i.e., state, county, local commissions, networks, councils, etc., as related to Commission work</li><li>Acts as a liaison with Department of Children and Families (DCF) and Florida Behavioral Health Association (FBHA)&nbsp;</li><li>Creates informational documents, gives presentations, and acts as lead mental health and substance use authority both internally and externally</li><li>Formulates, writes and prepares collateral and educational materials, media and public relations plans, and environment campaigns</li><li>Evaluates coalition initiatives to assess outcomes and overall effectiveness, collecting and analyzing qualitative/quantitative data&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains all records and documentation for Commission activities necessary for accountability</li><li>Serves on various internal/external committees – locally, state, and nationally as designated and needed</li><li>Supports management of Commission budget, grants, and sustainability activities</li><li>Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts</li></ul>Supervises: All Commission staff and volunteersEducation &amp; Experience:&nbsp;<ul><li>Master's degree in social work, business administration, urban affairs, public administration, mental health or other related fields.&nbsp;</li><li>Five-Seven years of experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity in a social service agency, hospital and/or government institution.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience conducting research and evaluating data preferred.</li><li>Experience in community organizing, program development, legislative affairs and/or government relations preferably.</li><li>Minimum five years of experience leading large teams and managing state and federal grants. &nbsp;</li><li>Strong fiscal/budgeting experience required.</li><li>Supervisory experience working with mid-size to large teams required.</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish and/or Creole desired.</li><li>Proficiency required in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.</li></ul>Environment &amp; Physical Demands:&nbsp;The environment is climate controlled (i.e., heated and air-conditioned).&nbsp; Lighting is adequate through overhead lighting as well as windows and blinds.
