POSITION SUMMARY The Chief Impact Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and evaluating equitable funding priorities for Heart of West Michigan United Way based on the community needs of multiple counties, as well as the grant process for partnering with agencies and managing the organization's programs that directly meet these needs. They set program outcome targets that align to the mission and vision of the organization. In addition, they lead the organization's <a href="https://www.hwmuw.org/transformation" target="_blank">Transformation Strategy</a> with the goal to close the achievement gaps for people of color. This person will also manage the Eviction Prevention Program for Kent County.JOB REQUIREMENTS Education and/or experience:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is required.</li><li>Minimum 8-10 years in leadership/management role in the nonprofit sector. Work-related experience must consist of successful people leadership, program evaluation, fund distribution, policy development, financial reporting, and budgeting.</li><li>Proven ability to implement and create leading and best-practice programs. Proven ability to work across multiple counties with different needs simultaneously.</li><li>Experience with funding and program development in Kent County and relationships developed with key stakeholders in Kent County are strongly preferred.</li><li>Experience applying equity and inclusion principles to decision-making.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Strategic leadership ability: Formulates objectives and priorities and implements plans consistent with long-term interests of the organization. Capitalizes opportunities and manages risks.</li><li>Change Leadership: Embrace and drive change; drive continuous improvement culture while modeling appropriate risk behavior.</li><li>Talent Optimization: Engages team members and develops clear goals and expectations. Provides recognition, feedback, and coaching for individual development.</li><li>Project Management: Ability to lead the planning, organization, monitoring, and control of all aspects of a project and the motivation of all involved to achieve the project objectives within agreed parameters including performance criteria.</li><li>Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to initiate, build, and continuously strengthen diverse partnerships within the United Way and the community. Demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.</li><li>Strong communications skills to prepare clear and concise correspondence, speak articulately, and demonstrate proficient public speaking skills.</li><li>Experience as a volunteer in a variety of roles-from direct service to board member-- with various organizations preferred.</li><li>High level of organization and prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with set deadlines/guidelines.</li><li>Demonstrated analytical skills.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office computer applications and database management.</li><li>Fosters an inclusive and racism free environment.</li></ul>Salary Statement: The typical offer range for this role is from minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay for this in a market scope. Please note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade for which this position belongs to.
