United Way of Lancaster is looking for a Resource Development Associate to join our team. 
United Way for nearly 100 years has brought together the financial resources of donors, the

The Resource Development Associate position will work as a cross functional member of 
the RD team fulfilling various fundraising duties as necessitated by events and activities 
throughout the fiscal year and to engage donors across the donor cycle, while acting in

Responsibilities: 

 • Work closely with the Director of Stewardship to plan and implement workplace 
campaigns and year-round donor engagement activities. 

 • Assist with developing workplace giving campaign strategies to create tailored 
engagement plans for participating companies. 

 • Manage portfolio of assigned corporate accounts to assist in the planning and 
implementation of workplace giving campaigns. 

 • Foster relationships with key stakeholders at companies participating in workplace 
campaigns to deepen the company’s commitment and that of their employees to 
increase participation, retention, and potential revenue. 

 • Assist Director of RD with implementing strategies to grow the number of individual 
leadership level donors through qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and 
stewardship. 

 • Conduct discovery visits to assess, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of leadership 
annual giving prospects for gifts between $1,000 and $5,000. 

 • Develop a cultivation and stewardship strategy to engage and retain new and young 
adult donors. 

 • Assist with the management of special donor groups, such as Women United 
 • Assist in developing and carrying out overall donor stewardship plans and activities. 
 • Partner with the Development and Marketing teams to plan and carry out 

fundraising, donor stewardship, and community engagement events. 
 • Develop and participate in presentations to raise awareness of the impact of United 

Way funding and programs throughout Lancaster County.

Director of Engagement for Young Professional Leaders (YPL) and Lead Impact Network Change (LINC) reports to the AVP of Annual Giving and Leadership Societies and is a vital member of the Office of Development.   The Director of Engagement for YPL and LINC is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and prospects classified as YPL and LINC candidates (22-40 age group). 	TOCQUEVILLE SOCIETY PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
<ul><li>Manage portfolio of Jane Bradley Pettit Society members, Tocqueville Donors, and Prospects.</li>
<li>Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors ($10,000+) inside and outside the workplace.</li>
<li>Design the strategy to recruit, cultivate and/or steward major gifts donors and qualified prospects by using marketing materials, working with other Resource Development staff, planning events and other engagement opportunities.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with Resource Development Account Managers to identify major gifts prospects from the Workplace Campaign.</li>
<li>Work closely with Tocqueville Society Cabinet members.</li>
<li>Oversee the Major Gifts Communications calendar and timeline, as well as other key communication to donors from United Way leadership.</li>

	PLANNED GIVING PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
<ul><li>Help to identify planned giving prospects and coordinate their solicitation.</li>
<li>Working closely with Planned Giving lead, develop effective planned giving strategies as well as identify opportunities to promote unique planned giving opportunities and transformational gift vehicles.</li>
<li>Help to develop process for maintaining relationships with current Legacy Society Members including annual touch points. </li>

	SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
	Manage/supervise staff responsible for the management of the following divisions: Community Gifts, Leadership Society, Major Gifts and Planned Giving. 	JOB SUMMARY:
	Manage fundraising efforts within the Leadership division including stewardship of donors giving $1200 - $9999. Grow United Way’s leadership program to include strategies for impactful interactions with current and prospective donors. Provide a wide range of support services and coordination for fundraising and annual campaign activities. Recognize and maintain the confidentiality and sensitive nature of division matters. Anticipate potential problems and develop solutions. This position reports to the Manager, Major Gifts.
	RESPONSIBILITIES:

	LEADERSHIP DIVISION 
	In partnership with the Account Manager, Leadership &amp; Community Gifts, steward donor relationships with individuals who give $1200-$9999 both in and out of the workplace.
	Set Goals and Update Projections
<ul><li>Work closely with Data Team and other staff to review lists and assign goals.  </li>
<li>When appropriate, create formulas to mass assign and apply goals, stretch goals, and external goals to for Leadership donors and prospects.</li>
<li>Based on donor response, provide ongoing updates to projections throughout campaign and reassess overall during Projection Setting process mid-campaign.</li>
</ul>
	Volunteer Management
<ul><li>Recruit Leadership Society Cabinet Members to support fundraising in the Leadership Division</li>
<li>Follow the timeline and ensure leadership prospect lists are created, distributed, and collected accordingly.</li>
<li>Work with staff and volunteers to identify new prospects to add to the lists.</li>
<li>Work with Leadership Society Cabinet Members to choose prospects to call on and act as the staff liaison for assigned Leadership Society volunteers.</li>
<li>Ensure all information is provided to the Information Coordinator in a timely manner for input.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Provide Leadership Society Cabinet Members with training, tools to aid their solicitation efforts, regular updates, and general support as needed.</li>
</ul>
	LEADERSHIP GIVING PROGRAM
<ul><li>Working with the Account Manager, Leadership &amp; Community Gifts, create and develop a more robust stewardship program for donors currently giving to United Way, but not engaged outside of an annual contribution.</li>
<li>Establish meaningful leadership giving levels between $1200 and $9,999, beyond level of financial contribution.</li>
<li>Create and manage a strategic plan for stewarding donors through leadership giving levels with the goal of those donors with capacity joining United Way’s Tocqueville Giving Society.</li>
<li>Work closely with Marketing &amp; Communications and Corporate Engagement team to develop communication strategies to promote the leadership program in and outside of the workplace.</li>
<li>Work closely with Marketing and Communications team to develop written letters and communication plans for the program.</li>
<li>Oversee identification and cultivation of leadership prospects and current leadership donors.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Donor Networks team to increase Leadership Donors’ participation in Donor Networks.</li>
<li>Support Leadership Events, including Donor Network activities, as needed.</li>
</ul>
	STEP-UP PROGRAM  
<ul><li>Assist the Account Manager, Leadership &amp; Community Gifts with the assessment, development, and management of a Leadership Step-Up program: donors who have opted to “step-up” to leadership giving; a three-year commitment to contributing $1,200  </li>
<li>Ensure that donors are staying on track each year to continue their recognition in the Leadership Registry </li>
<li>Work closely with Marketing &amp; Communications and Corporate Engagement team to continue to enhance communication strategies to promote the step-up program in and outside of the workplace </li>
<li>Assist with the identification and cultivation of step-up prospects and current participants  </li>
