POSITION

The role of the Program Manager, WayPoint Initiative is to manage the staff and operations of all UWBG WayPoint Centers in Lexington and surrounding counties.


 

UWBG WayPoint Centers are sites located in and around the neighborhoods they exist to serve and provide a multitude of services including, but not limited to, financial stability education, free income tax preparation, and other basic needs and financial programming related to empowering families and helping youth to succeed. The Program Manager, WayPoint Initiative directly supervises all WayPoint Coordinators, and work study students. The Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Community Impact.


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Managing and motivating a team of community impact professionals across several sites. 
  • Training and scheduling program staff and volunteers. 
  • Communicating job expectations and conducting performance evaluations twice per year. 
  • Work with staff to schedule daily/weekly/monthly programs and events for each WayPoint Center.
  • Long-term planning to meet impact goals established by the Vice President, Community Impact. 
  • Interacting with representatives of funding organizations including elected officials.
  • Scheduling and coordinating agency partner programs in each WayPoint Center.
  • Is frontward facing and sees him/herself as an advocate for the community.
  • Drives foot traffic to the center by planning and conducting awareness campaigns.
  • Understands and is mindful of the opportunities to expand the initiative and serve as UWBG’s representative to the community.
  • Acts as the second keyholder for all WayPoint Centers.
  • Capable of performing intake of clients providing financial coaching and connecting them to appropriate services in the event of staffing shortages.
  • Collaborates with the UWBG 2-1-1 (24/7 365) Health & Human Services Referral line to coordinate cross-training of staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
