Senior Manager, Philanthropy Initiatives

The Senior Manager of Philanthropy Initiatives will lead United Way’s fundraising efforts to support key initiatives and programs. Create and manage fundraising campaigns and appeals for strategic initiatives. Build effective processes within the resource development team and across internal teams to ensure that key individual, corporate and foundation prospects are identified and solicited. Ensure consistency and alignment within annual giving, workplace campaigns, major gifts, and foundation giving to provide an ideal experience to donors and prospects while connecting their passions and interests to generate revenue for key initiatives that drive systems change to support family economic well-being.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Plan and execute fundraising campaigns for strategic initiatives and programs at United Way which will include:
    • Working across team to identify key prospects and work towards appropriate solicitation.
    • Defining fundraising needs and opportunities to create donor offers and support Major Gift officers, corporate relationship managers and grant writers in aligning those offers to donors and prospect interests.
    • Work with our Donor Stewardship team to define and execute donor engagement and stewardship activities directly related to key initiatives and programs.
    • Work directly with Marketing and Communications to ensure appropriate collateral material and messaging support fundraising activities for key initiatives.
    • Work closely with Chief Development Officer, Chief Impact Officer and others to create a product lifecycle that identifies future fundraising initiatives to support systems change impact strategy.
  • Lead organizational prospecting efforts to ensure the development team has the best information to understand donors’ interests, passions, and capacity for supporting key initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of five years’ work experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing or sales. 
  • High proficiency in oral and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Occasional local travel to events within the regional area.

Salary starting at $65,000  plus competitive benefits package
