Job Title: Senior Manager, Grant Development and Management

Summary: The Senior Manager, Grant Development and Management, drives a cross-departmental strategy to resource and support the mission and community impact initiatives for United Way Suncoast. Responsible for the development and project management of the strategic funding plan and creating an organizational strategy for grant development. Additionally, the position will be accountable for writing compelling grant applications and ensuring alignment with financial and operational processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies team and organizational needs required to execute the strategic funding plan and creates processes and solutions to meet those needs.
- Develops a robust working relationship with the Resource Development department. Attends Resource Development team meetings. Works closely with Major Gifts staff to pursue goals and to develop proposals for prospects.
- Partnering with the Grant Accountant, leads the creation of the organizational grants management policy, procedures and processes that satisfy the needs of all departments and ensures that all necessary parties are involved.
- Establishes and maintains ongoing and current knowledge of United Way impact areas, goals, strategies and measures. Understands our holistic impact strategies and the integration of our work with funded partners.
- Works in partnership with the Senior Manager, Data and Outcomes to communicate progress of funded programs, to develop evaluation component of applications and a timeline for reporting progress.
- Creates an annual plan for grant development and management that includes timelines and responsibilities.
- Researches and identifies new government and private funding prospects. Cultivates prospects and establishes relationships with existing funders. Develops relationships in the community and pursues opportunities for joint resource development.

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; additional 5-7 years’ minimum related experience and/or training. A combination of education and experience of 12 plus years will also be considered.
A strategic thinker with project management experience is desired. Candidate must be able to work collaboratively across departments with diverse staff. Knowledge of grant application process and writing of applications required. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills; great attention to detail, capable of working independently, as well as having excellent communication skills and the ability to work in team situations.
Ability to read, interpret and report information in clear, concise, and useful formats. Ability to write clear, structured, organized proposals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Requires intermediate mathematical skills and abilities. Ability to compile, analyze and interpret statistical information.
Proactive problem solving and analytical ability. Identify source of existing problems and resolve within context of organizational policies and procedures.
Intermediate knowledge and proven adaptability to changing computer technology and software programs. Advanced knowledge of MS Office software applications. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Licenses: Valid Florida Driver’s License with a driving record that meets our insurance guidelines.
