ABOUT UNITED WAY CALIFORNIA CAPITAL REGION
Sacramento area kids who graduate from college are 62% less likely to live in poverty than those who drop out of high school. United Way California Capital Region is ending poverty in our region by starting at square one. Our Square One Project is a 20-year promise to significantly increase the number of local students who graduate from high school ready for success in college or career. Through nine decades of work and research across Amador, El Dorado, Sacramento, Placer and Yolo counties, we know that ending poverty starts in school and we’re working to ensure kids meet important milestones along the way.
