About United Way of Northwest Indiana
With an international network of over 1,800 local nonprofit affiliates and over 2.9 million volunteers, United Way has leveraged and coalesced their network to exponentially maximize impact to improve the lives of more than 61 million people worldwide.
To “Live United” and maximize regional impact, United Way of Porter County and Lake Area United Way have merged to become United Way of Northwest Indiana (UWNWI). By combining resources, UWNWI will capitalize on opportunities that were previously unreachable by either individual organization and offer greater support to more residents.
As a new organization, UWNWI will focus on solving the community’s most pressing and emerging challenges. With greater available resources and more expansive geographic coverage across five counties, UWNWI has an opportunity to mobilize and stimulate the interest and engagement of multiple constituents in Northwest Indiana to help people thrive.
