Position Summary
The Marketing Manager reports to the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and is responsible for supporting the Communications Team in developing and implementing expert strategies and communications that result in increased awareness and growing the positive impact of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA). The Marketing Manager plays a key role in sharing the story of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) through creative design, digital engagement, and strategic communications. This position blends marketing strategy, content creation, and event collaboration to elevate UWTSA’s brand, fundraising campaigns, and community impact.
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator and creative professional fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, and social/digital strategy, who thrives on turning complex community impact stories into clear, visually engaging messages that inspire action.
This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to and works directly with the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications. All United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) programs and strategies work toward eliminating racial, ethnic, and socio-economic disparities for an educated, thriving, and equitable community.

Salary Range: $56,000-$62,000 Annually
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing Materials and Strategies
Support the Marketing Director in tracking marketing and communications performance metrics such as engagement, conversion, donor acquisition, press mentions, and web traffic.
• Develop and execute integrated marketing and brand communication strategies that promote UWTSA’s mission and initiatives, ensuring consistent and appropriate use of the United Way brand.
• Create professional, high-quality promotional and campaign materials for digital and print using Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro).
• Collaborate with the Communications Team to plan and develop marketing strategies for major campaigns, programs, and events.
• Successfully use analytics, market research, communication, advertising, public relations, and digital marketing to generate profitable leads and donations.
• Working within the team, help manage quality control of all marketing and collateral materials, such as video production, annual report, pledge cards, brochures, etc.
• Help write, edit, and proofread content for various platforms, including newsletters, blogs, press releases, and donor communications.
• Support digital marketing efforts through SEO, email marketing, paid and organic social campaigns, and web analytics.
• Help maintain and update UWTSA’s WordPress website, ensuring accessibility, current content, and alignment with campaign messaging.
Donor/Targeted Audience Relations
• Collaborate with the Advancement team to create communications, collateral, and digital materials that drive fundraising and increase donor engagement.
• Help design and implement targeted donor and partner communications, including direct mail, email campaigns, and digital storytelling.
• Assist in developing materials and assets for major giving, corporate partnerships, and workplace campaigns.
• Support the execution of annual fundraising campaigns through creative design, storytelling, and content coordination.
• Work with staff to collect and share compelling impact stories and testimonials that highlight donor investment and community outcomes.
• Assist in tracking campaign performance and analyzing engagement metrics to optimize future fundraising initiatives.
Advertising
• Assist in targeted ad campaign maintenance (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.) to reach donors and community partners.
• Monitor and analyze performance of digital channels, providing reports and insights to improve content and engagement.
• Stay current on emerging trends and tools in digital marketing, advertising, and content creation.
• Help manage and grow social media accounts with intentional and effective messaging.
Events, Promotions and Sponsorships
• Work with Community Engagement Team on coordinating with volunteers, staff, and vendors in planning and executing events within budget.
• Work with Communications Team in creating event signage and materials, working with all departments, especially Resource Development.
• Help capture event content (photo, video, and stories) for post-event communications and social sharing.
• Assist in fulfilling sponsorship benefits.
• Event set up and breakdown as needed.
Sr. Marketing Manager Qualifications
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication plans that support UWTSA’s mission, goals, and key initiatives.
• Oversee complex, multi-channel campaigns from concept through execution, ensuring consistent messaging, creative excellence, and measurable outcomes.
• Act as a lead project manager for major marketing initiatives, coordinating across departments and external vendors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Help guide storytelling and content strategy across digital, print, and video platforms to increase awareness, engagement, and donor support.
• Manage brand standards and ensure all materials align with UWTSA’s voice, values, and visual identity.
• Conduct and interpret marketing analytics, translating data insights into actionable strategies and performance improvements.
• Support crisis communications, media relations, and community engagement efforts as needed.
• Support video and graphics production direction and execution.
• Serve as a senior collaborator in identifying opportunities for innovation, brand positioning, and enhanced public visibility.
Administrative Functions
• Perform duties in accordance with United Way policies and procedures such as attending staff meetings and conferences, completing accurate and timely timesheets and expense reports.
• Ability to manage horizontal priorities in a fast-paced environment, lead project planning, organization, monitoring and implementation, and motivate departmental teams toward project objectives.
• Submit budgets as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop; Premiere Pro or After Effects preferred).
• Experience with WordPress website management and basic knowledge of SEO and accessibility standards.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a focus on inclusive and engaging storytelling.
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute digital and print marketing materials.
• Familiarity with social media management tools, digital advertising platforms, and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite).
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance, have daily access to reliable transportation, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
