POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Database Administration is responsible for developing, cataloging, conducting and maintaining a variety of statistical data and reports for the organization. In this position you will be required to oversee input of contribution data from divergent sources ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of pledge, designation and campaign reports. Further, the Manager will assist all staff in the timely and accurate performance of their duties through training and direction. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

System Administrator duties:

• Establish and maintain all data within the United Way of Brevard database, including all web structure components.
• Oversee modules, pledge processing agency payouts, and web migration.
• Train staff and appropriate volunteers on standard and customized reporting of activities and provide technical assistance and training on software.
• Extract data to prepare meaningful, user-friendly, timely and accurate operational reports.
• Identify deficiencies in data quality and works with other team members to resolve problem areas.
• Develop automated and standardized reporting solutions to maximize efficiency of report production including decisions related to software, data extraction, data collection methods, data organization/structure and reporting platforms.
• Maintain the integrity of all data within the United Way of Brevard database and coordinates data extraction.

Network Administrator duties:

• Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, operation, security and support of Network and Internet systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
• Monitor, analyze and maintain network systems for security, availability and performance, including assignment and maintenance of routing protocols and configuration of routing; and configuration and maintenance of directory services for user authentication and access.
• Administer the ongoing maintenance, operation, security and support of systems at United Way of Brevard for Microsoft server products and all third-party applications.
• Support all end-user needs, including laptops, desktops and telephone systems, including installation and configuration of end-user operating systems and applications; deployment of security updates and patches for all internal and third-party applications; and identify end-user needs and requirements and make recommendations for delivery and improvement.

Environment, Physical Activity, and Mental Demands

• The environment for this position is an open office that is clean and comfortable and includes driving a vehicle approximately 5% of the time.
• The position is in a non-confined office-type setting in which the employee is free to move about at will and may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
• The employee in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
• May operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, copy, fax machines, calculator, personal computer, related printers and related office equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents or instruments; perform highly detailed work; assist or guide problem solving; train staff in relative IT duties of their departments; perform mathematical functions; conduct meetings and presentations; prepare written communication; perform highly specialized analytical reasoning; withstand stress; and handle multiple and concurrent tasks.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related required. Advanced degree or relevant certification preferred.
• Five years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Previous experience with a focus on Information Technology highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge and training commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within SQL, HTML, CSS, Window platforms. Previous experience with ANDAR Software desirable.
• Must be proficient in report writing and general written correspondence.
• Must be able to read and interpret business documents and statistical data.
• Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.
• Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Current Florida driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering the health or safety of himself/herself or others.
