Impact Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Impact Coordinator JOB CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, non-exempt (20-25 hrs/week) REPORTS TO: Director of Impact HOURLY RATE: $17-18/hr ABOUT UNITED WAY EMERALD COAST: United Way Emerald Coast (UWEC) is a local volunteer-based non-profit organization that brings individuals and groups together in a community wide effort to help others. Together, we fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Okaloosa and Walton counties. We work with hundreds of individuals and organizations that share a collective vision for what is possible when we Unite our efforts. To drive positive change, UWEC evaluates our community's diverse needs, mobilizes the caring power of the community, and directs resources to the areas that will have the most positive impact. GENERAL FUNCTION: The Impact Coordinator is responsible for strengthening UWEC’s Community Impact work through community initiatives and volunteerism. This position will oversee and coordinate United Way’s annual events and engagement opportunities including, but not limited to, Born Learning Trails, Stuff the Bus, Day of Caring, and Ride United. This also includes supporting the relationships and logistics associated with each program. The Impact Coordinator will work with volunteers, local nonprofits, and other community partners to engage volunteers in meaningful, quality roles. Additionally, the Impact Coordinator will support the Director of Impact in fostering local non-profit relationships, administering the Community Investment process, and other administrative tasks. This position must have the ability to maintain and cultivate community relationships and work collaboratively with UWEC cross-sector departments. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: • Work closely with Director of Impact in carrying out essential duties and responsibilities related to UWEC’s annual events and volunteer management. • Organize and coordinate UWEC’s community initiatives (Family Days, Born Learning Trails, Stuff the Bus, Ride United, Day of Caring, etc.). • Assist in community outreach and increasing awareness of programs to ensure maximum community participation. • Manage inventory and distribution of all program materials within budget guidelines. • Build non-profit capacity through volunteer placement, coordinating resources, trainings, and aiding key stakeholder groups. • Provide staff and administrative support to the Director of Impact. • Coordinate communication and information flow to nonprofit partners and other community partners. • Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with UWEC employees, businesses, and community partners. Additional Responsibilities: • Keep all activities in line with the core values and contribute to the positive culture of UWEC. • Participate in professional development opportunities as related to the duties of the position. • Attend UWEC and community events when necessary. • Assist with the organization’s disaster response efforts, when necessary. • Assist with other projects as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED: • Understand and demonstrate commitment to the mission, vision, and direction of UWEC. • Associate’s degree or 2 years of related experience preferred. • Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening to support vulnerable populations. • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. • Proficient in business computer software and systems including Microsoft 365. • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience. • Ability to manage and maintain sensitive information and communications in a confidential and professional manner. • Knowledge of local nonprofits or human services organizations strongly preferred. • Ability to learn tasks quickly and work independently with minimal supervision. • Flexible to change; proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines without compromising quality. • Ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse population and multiple stakeholders. • Drivers’ license and reliable vehicle, or equivalent ability to travel within a 2-county region. WORKING CONDITIONS: • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, sit and stand; use hands to finger manipulation, handle, feel, reach with arms and hands, and talk or hear. • Extended viewing of computer monitors. • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds. • Occasional local travel within the service area, including some evenings and weekends (mileage reimbursed). • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
