Human Resources Coordinator- Regional Multiple Locations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

The Human Resources Coordinator is a vital role in the Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Shared Services organization supporting multiple United Way organizations in Michigan. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting the Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Shared Services organization from an administrative perspective. The HR Coordinator is expected to function effectively with regular supervision while following the guidelines given on HR processes and procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.


Administrative Excellence:

  • Collect and file new hire documents and maintain employment files.
  • Submit change forms, ensuring offer letters, end dates, and terminations are completed accurately and timely.
  • Create reports as needed.
  • Provide audit support by attending local audits, responding to requests for a list of missing documents for licensing audits, printing documents and preparing employee files for audit.
  • Onboarding new employees at each location.
  • Coordinate off-boarding efforts and process.
  • Process Human Resources email/mail as needed.
  • Complete employment verification requests.
  • Process invoices, as needed.
  • Manage employment law poster vendor, updating spreadsheets and notifying locations, and updating locations as needed.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Post open roles and conduct initial candidate screening in compliance with EEOC.
  • Schedule interviews.
  • Provide candidate feedback in a timely fashion.
  • Run background and reference checks.

Talent Management/Employee Engagement:

  • Coordinate training opportunities, all staff HR updates, and other presentations as needed.
  • Manages initial intake for employee relations issues and escalating to HR leadership promptly.

Completes other duties as assigned.


Minimum requirements include:

  • Associate’s level degree in Human Resources, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college.
  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources and/or working in an office administration capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent field of study from an accredited college.

  • Must possess a strong attention to detail with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks.
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Works well under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, SharePoint
