Housing Navigation Center Resource Navigator

General Description
The Housing Navigation Center Resource Navigator is responsible for completing new guest intakes, navigating community resources with guests, and assisting guests with job applications, housing applications, and general computer tasks. The position maintains professional relationships and clear communication with guests receiving services and agencies providing services. The position requires regular direct services and careful documentation to track guest progress, with the goal of securing permanent housing. Additionally, this position is charged with referring guests to appropriate services, ensuring guests are signing in and out, data entry, and maintaining the cleanliness of the center.

• Utilizes trauma-informed care, person centered, and culturally competent principles in referring guests to services within the center
• Utilizing motivational interviewing to engage guests in goal setting to help them complete their housing plan
• Greet guests when they enter the center, ensure that they sign in and out and are assisted appropriately
• Develop rapport and communication with both Agency representatives and HNC guests
• Ensure that all guests receiving services have completed an intake packet and ensure that guests are referred to the correct agencies and resources
• Keep files and documents organized, work with both paper documents and electronic files, and do routine tasks like data entry, organization, cross-referencing, scanning, copying and retrieval
• Day to day tasks such as answering the phone, general customer service, orienting new guests/visitors to the space, etc.
• Maintain the cleanliness and professionalism of the Housing Navigation Center
• Work closely with other agencies at the Housing Navigation Center to coordinate care for guests

United Way of Weld County General
• Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of UWWC, including representing UWWC in professional organizations and the community (as assigned)
• Support fundraising efforts of UWWC and activities that support UWWC
• Support UWWC annual events, UWWC disaster response, and other activities as assigned
• Attend appropriate staff meetings and in service opportunities
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Self-motivated; proven excellent performance standards and quality of work
• Excellent customer service and phone skills
• Effective interpersonal communication skills including one-on-one conversations
• Satisfactory written communications
• Organizational skills, detail-oriented, attention to deadlines
• Ability to multi-task with constantly changing priorities and excellent follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Case management and charting skills
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
• Ability and desire to work with people from various backgrounds and/or limited English capabilities
