United Way of Lee, Henry, and Glades (UWLHG) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people in our community. This is accomplished through fundraising, fund distribution (90+ partners), community building, volunteer advancement, and information and referral. UWLHG is an $16 million nonprofit social services organization with 70+ employees in five locations. The majority of funding is from private donations, although UWLHG also receives local, state, and federal grants.
Summary: Work within the Gifts in Kind Department to move donated goods in a reliable and responsible manner. This position is Part Time, Non-Exempt.
Essential Functions
1. Assist with scheduled deliveries, pick-ups and other related activities for the Gifts in Kind Department.
2. Follow the instructions and directives of the Gifts in Kind Coordinator/ Assistant Director for laying out inventory, pulling items for deliveries, and other related activities.
3. Coordinate schedule to align with the Gifts in Kind Department’s calendar of inventory management and delivery schedule.
4. Always follow outlined safety procedures and protocols.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities. Occasionally may work in conjunction with program volunteers.
Qualifications: The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform the essential job duties.
Education and/or Experience: High School completion preferred.
Knowledge Safe lifting practices and other safety protocols preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent active listening, and interpersonal skills required. Critical thinking, prioritization and judgment skills required.
Language Skills: Ability to present information to and respond to questions from staff members and program volunteers required.
Computer Skills: Limited computer skills preferred.
Presentations Skills: No public speaking abilities required.
Licenses: Valid Florida Driver’s License with a driving record that meets our insurance guidelines.
Other Skills: Problem solving capabilities, empathy, and cultural diversity skills. Desire to go above and beyond to meet stakeholder needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, bend, lift, sit, talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Lifting support such as team lifting, carts, and other tools will be provided. There may be additional physical requirements associated within the program. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This job primarily operates within a warehouse environment, without air conditioning. Closed-toe shoes and other proper safety gear should be worn at all times.
This is a Part-time, non-exempt position. Days of work may vary but will primarily be Monday through Friday. Evening and weekends may be required as job duties demand.
