Director of Operations and Events

The Director of Operations and Events reports to the Associate Vice President of Annual Giving and Leadership Societies. This position is pivotal in making sure the Donor Engagement team is effective in stewarding, retaining, and acquiring new donors to fund the Child Well Being mission. The Director is central in supporting the delivery of best practices, processes, and unique experiences for each donor community but will share excellence in donor experience. The objective for each team member is to create an organic, diverse, and relational network of donor communities that nurture interconnection and investment across the organization.

This position is the central position to support planning and implementation to the donor engagement strategic plan aimed at increasing revenue and retention; providing opportunities for development to engage prospects; effectively managing volunteer boards, committees, cabinets, etc.; growing membership; expanding individual engagement to the entire region; stewarding UWGA friends and partners; engaging a diverse audience; and more. The Director will serve as a key liaison to the marketing team to leverage social and traditional media channels to reach donors and prospects. This position will also support scheduling and volunteer board/cabinet management duties as directed by the Impact Network Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with Donor Engagement leads to support the strategic plan and execute all events and donor stewardship interaction through the impact network and giving society membership.
  • Supports team in organizing and delivering events, mailings, and other outreach to donor engagement groups.
  • Supports best practices across all team events.
  • Serves as the central liaison to marketing for event planning and execution.
  • Coordinates the delivery of a variety of events and oversees the strategic engagement of event attendees during the event and beyond.
  • Oversees the support of Team lead management of volunteers/boards/committees/cabinets etc.
  • Coordinates newsletters, stewardship information production and timelines for Impact Network and Giving societies.
  • Establishes quality control systems for individual engagement marketing materials, commitment forms, letters, etc.
  • Supports administration of all event invoices and budget reconciliation.
  • Assists with ordering materials and submitting check requests.
  • Organizes all team meetings.
  • Meets all assigned goals and metrics.
  • Offers staff support to volunteer members as needed.
  • Utilizes the UWGA CRM to track data and ensure data accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Expectations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-5 years of successful experience in event execution, fundraising, sales and/or account management.

  • Attending and assisting with the coordination of evening and weekend events as needed.
  • Ability to innovate, problem solve, and timely follow through with promises or tasks.  
  • Work independently and be self-motivated.
