Position Title: Marketing & Communications Coordinator

We are incredibly proud of the work we have begun in 2020 and 2021. In order to keep that momentum going well into the future, we are seeking a creative and strategic leader with drive and determination to lead our Marketing and Communications efforts.
This role crafts and tells the amazing story of our community. Building and strengthening our brand in all that we do and championing our presence across all media/social media platforms with consistency and mission-driven purpose.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise personnel and systems for Branding and Messaging.

Develop and implement a strategic year-round marketing plan including collateral materials, direct mail, paid advertising, publicity, social media and online opportunities.

Plan and maintain brand presence on all social media platforms that is creative, engaging, and educates followers on the UWOR mission.

Ensure that all marketing material support UWOR’s mission and strategic plan goals.

Plan and respond to crisis communication activities by analyzing crisis or potential crisis, developing PR/communication plan and communicating with the media as needed.

Maintain confidentiality of public relations plan, campaign analysis reports and other non-public or sensitive subject matter.

Manage the quality and consistency of message in all organizational materials including letters, collateral materials, invitations, online and social media outreach.

Provide strong strategic direction and writing for all publications and social media profiles.

Oversee the writing talking points and speeches as needed for all events when possible.

Work with other departments (Resource Development and Community Impact) to effectively promote initiatives, events and generate meaningful direct mail/solicitations.

Evaluate effectiveness of work plans and results achieved, and systematically make improvements to future plans.

Participate on relevant community task forces, commissions, and committees.

Speak before a variety of community groups concerning community impact, community involvement and supporting United Way of the Ocoee Region.

Act as spokesperson for the organization.

Assist with the organization’s disaster response efforts.

Works closely with external contractors, media partners, and other partners in the community
Executive Support:
-
Prepare the President & CEO, staff and board for media interviews as needed.

Prepare in collaboration with the President & CEO presentations for the public.

Support President & CEO along with the Director of Development with activities around the campaign.

Perform other duties as opportunities are presented and/or assigned by the President & CEO.

Experience & Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Business, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing or related field and/or 3-5 years experience in Marketing & Communications.

Experience in resource development, fundraising, and special events.

Background in complex organizations of commensurate size and scope.

Skilled at effectively presenting information and ideas to executive teams, volunteers, and board of directors.

Proven effectiveness working in a team environment, facilitating groups, and working with leadership volunteers

Recognized as a collaborative, motivational, supportive, and visionary leader.

Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills

Must be flexible to changes, able to work independently and have strong problem-solving skills

Excellent oral/written communication skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
