Director of Resource Development

Description

As Director of Resource Development, you will ensure engagement of the donor community, corporate and individuals, securing and continually growing annual fundraising in St Johns County. You will lead and oversee the planning, direction, and execution of all fundraising efforts and activities, and will serve as a public representative of the organization.

Required Skills

Drive Revenue and Impact You will create and execute strategic fundraising plans for individuals, institutions, and workplace giving. You will continuously build the network of donors by being visible and engaged in the community. You will prioritize and balance annual funding needs with emerging priorities, including special campaigns and initiatives, and be involved in the planning and management of fundraising events such as the Giver’s Gala.

Strategic Relationship Building You will build and maintain strategic partnerships and lasting relationships with community stakeholders and corporate executives. You will work closely with the UWSJC team to inspire greater participation from board members and volunteers to and consistently engage donors and prospects; and cultivate volunteers and opportunities to execute corporate, employee or individual giving strategies.

Leadership and Communication Skills You will manage multiple projects efficiently and remain focused on details, follow-up, and communication. You will effectively present the United Way message to all audiences.

Nonprofit Knowledge You will monitor key fundraising trends/issues and communicate implications and challenges to UWSJC Pres/CEO with suggested actions. You will deal ethically with confidential information. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of digital engagement, platforms and social media and their use in fundraising strategy.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Five to seven years of fundraising experience with proven experience in managing and elevating major gift, corporate engagement and annual giving strategies.
  • To succeed in this position, you should have significant experience working in fundraising or sales with a record of success.
  • Work background in St Johns County and/or with other United Ways a plus

Salary Range:
